SPOILERS - the secrets of 'No Guns, No Swords, No Briefcases'

TF Wiki is fantastic at capturing all the continuity references in each issue of MTMTE. However, issue #50's back up was PACKED with them as a way of celebrating the previous issues, and inevitably some were missed. Here they are, along with some extra notes.

The linking device is that each scene features someone who subsequently died (even the Legislator when he became Ten? Hmm).

PAGE 1

Ore's glass - the one he puts on the tabletop before he leaves - is seen in #3 when Swerve and Skids discover the "bar".

Shock's tag is the line he quotes when he discovered Ore's corpse in #3. The date underneath the tag, 15/010 is '15th Cycle 010', meaning it was written shortly before the ship went missing (#38 was set in 1st Cycle 012 i.e. 01/012).

Shock says he hopes to meet Skids on Hedonia. In the Annual, Ore tells Swerve that he and Shock intend to leave the Lost Light when they pass near Hedonia.

PAGE 2

Swerve’s love of banners was established in #22 and #23.

Pipes laments the passing of the Duobots, telling Drift he’d only just met them. In the Annual, Ore mistakens Swerve for Pipes, who he says he met on the Lost Light’s launchpad.

Drift says that Rewind’s eyes betray his kindness – this is a reference to him being a practising Spectralist (see #22 and #30).

Drift refers to Tailgate as a “bomb disposal expert” – at this point, Tailgate was still lying to everyone about his profession.

“…massive crush…” is off course a nod to Pipes’ fate in #15.

PAGE 3

Red Alert is examining some spilt engex – this is the moment, not that you’d know it, that he discovers what Swerve is up to and reports it to Magnus ahead of issue #6.

Swerve’s ‘alt mode curiosity’ was established in #2 in his conversation with Tailgate

PAGE 4

We finally learn Rewind Mk 1’s motivation for helping Rung to talk again.

Chromedome speaks to Rewind Mk 1 for the last time, chronologically speaking. His last words (“I’m sorry things didn’t work out”) are the same as Rewind Mk 1’s last words to him in issue #15 – not that Chromedome would know that, as he couldn’t hear them.

PAGE 7

This scene is set before the Lost Light takes off again from Cybertron, but after Megatron has been announced as co-captain, leading Swerve (whose anti-Megs feelings were referenced in #29) to put up a banner reading FUCK OFF MEGATRON. This is clearly the best thing that’s ever been in a Transformers comic.

Crosscut, acting as tour guide, is using a space as an accessory – a reference to his obsession with spades - he used one to liberate Petrex (#23) and named his first play ‘My Shovel, Your Face’.

The Community reference was not just me plugging the show again – this is the moment Swerve discovers his favourite show (see #43).

Brainstorm’s faceplate is on the bar, concealing his Decepticon badge. This scene takes place before he starts poisoning the engex (see #35) – you can see him having a drink.

Mistake! Brainstorm shouldn’t have his briefcase in the bar – the clue’s in the title. Bad form, Roberts.

PAGES 8 to 10

These are flashback pages, like all the others. You’re supposed to think they’re set between #49 and #50… until ghost Getaway appears in the last panel, reflecting on his actions (as seen in ‘How Bright…’)
