So today our company is entering into a trial partnership with Chrono.gg, a new startup whose model is to sell one game every day for 24 hours at a discount. These titles are usually a little older, as opposed to brand new games and so far have been from indie developers. We have confirmed, both with the company and with the developers of the games that these keys are 100% legitimate Steam keys and not grey market items. As part of this partnership we will promote a link to the daily sale, if and when we think that they're selling a game we can get behind. These will be games that we have given our opinion on in the past, usually in video form and are on record as having liked. Any sale on the site will pay us a percentage.

TotalBiscuit has expressed his concern for affiliate links in the past and even discusses this very website on this weeks Co-optional Podcast. As a result of that discussion and feedback from other members of the industry and Twitch subscribers, we have decided to partner with the site on a trial basis. Because we are able to choose specifically which games we promote (and the site sells only one title per day), we feel comfortable with it from an ethical stand-point. We are however aware, perhaps hyper-aware of potential conflicts of interest and bias that something like this could introduce. We feel the model that Chrono.gg is offering helps minimise this. By selling only one title per day and allowing us complete freedom to promote titles that we have a proven trackrecord of liking to begin with, we feel the partnership does not compromise our integrity as critics and the trust of our audience.

That said, the reality is that this trust, something we hold above all else, is in the hands of the audience. If the audience chooses to turn away from our content as a result of this partnership then that is our fault and we will have to bear the consequences for it. We strongly believe in supporting indies and also taking steps to fight the rise of grey market retailers. Since we know that these keys are legitimate and we also know exactly how much money is going to the developer per sale, we feel that we are promoting good consumer practice, driving sales to developers that deserve them and of course, making money ourselves in the process. Affiliate links are present on many games media websites, some of them are very poorly disclosed. We feel that we can accurately disclose these links so there is no doubt in anyones mind what is going on and we feel we can do so with confidence in our integrity.

Whether or not you believe that, is up to you. Judge us by our actions. We won't hold it against you, indeed it is not only your right but arguably your responsibility to stop supporting someone who you no longer trust. We of course reserve the right to cancel this partnership at any time.

We're starting today with a discount on Warhammer: Vermintide, which recently released new DLC. You can pick up a Steam key for the game for the discounted price of $18 on http://chrono.gg/tb TotalBiscuit has gone on record as enjoying this game a great deal. He gave it a very positive impression and also put it in his Top 10 Games of 2015 as well as nominated it in the Arbitrary Awards 2015. We like the product, we have no qualms telling you so and encouraging you to buy it.
Thanks for your continued support. The link to each game will always be http://chrono.gg/tb so it's easy to figure out. We'll be tweeting about each sale assuming it contains a game we're willing to endorse.
