Team Resurgence

The team has been through a lot in the past months. Never really catching a break. Getting screamed at by the community saying we are bad sports or even cheaters, is not easy to handle from a community you are trying to make a name in. It would hurt anyone's emotional endurance with all the bombardments every tournament, being painted as the bad guys. This emotional drainage showed over time but we were still a great team. I would honestly say we were easily top 6 if not 5 in North America. After working for months and talking to sponsors we were still improving slowly and finding our place in the competitive scene. We had amazing talent and veterans of the scene. Then there was the DDoS attack: In qualifier 3 we got DDoS'd against Team Nom so we lost our spot in that bracket. Really upset because we felt we should have qualified in that qualifier. The last qualifier comes around: After throwing our win against King of Blades Alpha (not saying they are worse but we threw the games away, I completely respect that team and hope they do well.) we had to face team Nom again who were relatively unknown to our team. The instant our game starts Equinox starts having connection issues that really hadn't been all the present all day. Anyway it results in us having to play with bots and managers etc (you know the story). This was a gigantic blow to our confidence because we had many sponsors telling us, "Once you qualify we can finalize a deal." So there was a lot of pressure on that set. Now we do not know who attacked equinox and Fury but it doesn't matter at this point anyway.

So we moved on to take a week break because we were devastated. After we came back we started to work on improving again. Until Kilick brought up that he would be leaving the team. He decided he would rather continue working on his business and maybe pursue coaching or managing. I get that and that is 100% understandable. I love Kilick as well as I love all my teammates. Being the upstanding guy he is he says he will stay and help us find a replacement. Unfortunately it didn't matter because there were problems rooted in the team that were unbearable for some. There was tension in scrims sure because we just lost our shotcaller and great player but the problems were always slightly present. Unfortunately not very much communication about what bothered people was put across from everyone on the team. After a lot of stress and nothing to pay for it Fury decided to leave as well today. There was a lot of stress that came with being on Resurgence. We were outcasts of other teams coming together to show that we are still good players. Losing the qualifiers didn't help with the stress and Fury wanted a clean start. It's really rough for all of us and I know personally I wanted it to work out so much. But at the end of the day you have to do what is best for you and your own stability.

I respect the hell out of all my teammates. That includes the ones that left. Fury I think is one of the best tanks in North America and I cherished my time with him on my team. All I can hope is that we remain friends through the drama storm that will probably come from this. As well as Kilick not being able to handle the stress of the game and stepping away completely is a extremely hard choice. He has plans and I hope they work out the best way possible. Ryxie is by far the best support I've played with in terms of comms personality and skill put together. He started out a little quiet but grew more comfortable and even started making fun of us and became a real friend through this. Lastly, Equinox: we have always had history of not liking each other and BM'ing each other but, once we finally talked and started playing with each other an instant friendship occurred and I know he is going to do great things in this scene.

Overall I want to say that I am happy with my time on Resurgence and I want all of my friends to do great in their future endeavors. I want to thank all of the fans that truly supported us through thick and thin. I can promise you that this will not end my own competitive career. I will be looking to jump back into it.

Thank you for the support,
Austin "Shot" Lonsert
Former captain of Resurgence
