Regarding tonight's actions:

From every tournament we've ever been part of, whether it's something we create (Corsair Cups, etc), all the way to the bigger leagues with IEM/WCS It's been **standard practice** to have qualifier matches covered by streams. Even ESL has rules regarding this, we do too, but ours are worded poorly (we're fixing that). I will state that for a player like SortOf, who has played in many of the things we've covered in the last 3 years, and multiple times found himself in qualifying rounds and had to wait for casters, this should not have been something strange to him. However, it is true that he was not contacted about his match, but the information I've been provided with was that he finished his match, grabbed firecake, and logged over to EU all before our admin had a chance to message him. Unfortunately this is a practice we're familiar with involved with dodging casting & admins. Moving forward we've revised our rules so that players can no longer report their own matches at/beyond the RO8 and will have to confirm/contact the admins to prevent something like this from ever happening again. While FireCake failed to inform SortOf of the situation, he's still accountable for refusing to play his matches, or even willing to log onto the battle.net

I've contacted SortOf personally, apologized for overreacting, we discussed the miscommunication, and he's no longer banned from our events. The last time we had issues with a player, it resulted it in us creating a rule set for our tournament. That was many months ago, and since we've had no problems until tonight. Now we've taken the information from today under consideration and are furthering to try and improve our ruleset for future events.
