Calling Campaign: Sister of the Valley CBD Salve/Oil Merced CA marijuana biz BAN

Central Valley Citizens for Cannabis Research and Commerce
CALLING CAMPAIGN: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT CANNABIS THIS WEEK?

The top three items in the mission statement for our city council are as follows:

#1. Maintain a high quality of life for citizens
#2 Demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with all segments of the community
#3 Show sensitivity and awareness of community needs and issues.

Those of us who have been following the city council and their ‘ban on cannabis’, know that they have outright violated the first three items in their mission statement. Their reason or excuse for completely going against the wishes of the citizenry, is that ‘they don’t understand’. However, as Stan Thurston famously said “We have a yearning for learning”. Stan Thurston, our Mayor, indicated that in ‘a few months’, the ban will be lifted and replaced with legislation.

It’s on us to keep the pressure on the council, or they will sweep the issue under the rug and we will always have the ban. It has been 19 years since medical marijuana became a recognized right by the State, and in all that time, our mayor, our city zoning, and our officials have kept their head in the ground to make sure they understand nothing, learn nothing, know nothing. And here we are. With them ‘yearning to learn’.

Please, folks, help us out. It is week two of the ban. We must get every one we know, and we must participate ourselves, in a call-in campaign where we call our city council members every Thursday or Friday, and ask them what they learned this week. Ask them what progress has been made lifting the ban. Remind them that it is 2 weeks now that they have criminalized sickness. Two weeks now that they have criminalized four businesses serving their citizens. Every week that goes by, add a week to your statement. “It is now three weeks, Mayor, what have you learned?”

We Kick Off a Calling Campaign Called: What Have You Learned About Cannabis This Week?

Every Thursday or Friday, everyone we know must call and ask,

Number to Call: (209) 385-6834

“Hey, Mayor, I’m a citizen of your town, and I just want to know, what have you learned about cannabis this week? Please call me back. My name is _______________. My phone number is ___________.”

“Hey, Councilman Pedrozo, it is now two weeks since you made criminals out of sick people, and those serving sick people, what have you learned this week? Have you started working your way out of the ban as is the will of the people? Please call me back. My name is ______________. My number is ________________.”

“Hey, Councilman Blake, I am a citizen of Merced, and I just want to know if the city council has reached out to Doctor Jenkins, who is an expert in the legalization laws that are coming? Have you spoke with her? Do you need her number? (give them this number for Dr. Jenkins 209 725 3320)

Be sure to ask for a call back, and leave your name and number.

Here are your infamous city council members, the one’s who banned cannabis research, cultivation, and commerce, in your town, overruling the demands of the citizenry:

Stan Thurston, Mayor until November of this year
Joshua Pedrozo is in office until November, 2018
Michael Belluomini is in office until November, 2018
Kevin Blake, in office until November 2018
Tony Dossetti (up for re-election in November?)
Mike Murphy (up for re-election in November?)

Please copy and paste and re-post everywhere you can. Copy and print to give to folks who are not on the internet. Help get the word out. We must keep the calling campaign going until the ban is overturned.

Background for your call: "A bill aimed at staunching the flow of local governments rushing to ban medical marijuana businesses unanimously passed both houses in the California Legislature. AB 21 is now on its way to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk for his signature. Sponsored by Assemblyman Jim Wood, the bill removes a phrase in the current medical marijuana law some read to mean that local governments could lose authority to regulate cultivation within their community if they didn’t take action by March 1."
