I was in that crowd

I was one of the kids in that crowd at CEVO LAN. And I'm damn proud to say it.

I came to CEVO LAN with one friend to watch some CS, have some fun, and meet the pros I looked up to online. I never intended for any of this today. But I am extremely happy it happened.

Me and my friend Blockspray had been relatively quiet, cheering at the occasional good play but other than that, we weren't obnoxious. Until Conquest came in.

After the Titan game, me and Blockspray were hyped. We were ready for a long night. We saw some kids gathering to root on Conquest under the pretense of being a "believer" so me and Block joined them.

Before map 1 started, we decided as a group to cheer for every Conquest kill, and to go absolutely nuts for them. We expected just some dumb looks and some people who thought we were mental, but it became so much more.

We became aware that the CSGO community online was actually talking about us. It fueled us more as we saw popular threads on Reddit and HLTV take form and gain popularity. We logged onto the MLG streams to see the chat talking about us. So we continued.

Eventually I flashed my twitter on the screen. I got overwhelming support (except for one hate comment. It was pretty funny tho). So we continued more.

After map 1 I think we went absolutely nuts because CQ won. At this point we had even the casters and analysts talking about us. CEVO realized that this was huge for their event (at least I hope) and gave us all shirts. They then put the camera directly in front of our group for the whole MLG.TV to see. We got even more hyped.

In map 2, MLG supplied us with water. it was nice since we had been running to the bathroom to refill water bottles prior to rhis because there was no water abailable besides that. We became aware that we were actually appreciated by MLG. It was nice to know that we weren't just obnoxious kids being dumb, but we were appreciated. Even after the event we talked to the Conquest players, the casters, even RL and Scoots, and they all told us good job.

After the second map, we decided to hype up the players even more. When they went for their break, we made a player tunnel for them to go through on their way back go their seats. They were completely into it, running through our tunnel and everything. RL and the analysts even turned around to talk to us as we were making it.

In map 3, we ran out of water. Darkside personally delivered a whole case of MLG stamped water. He was really cool to us the whole series, and was one of my favorite people there.

After map 3, we went completely insane. CQ won and it actually felt like we helped them. We felt the win a ton and we made another player tunnel. They were into it again, and were happy to sign autographs and everything. A big group of us got a massive picture with Shahzam, who we referred to as "Jesus" and "The Prophet" throughout the series.

After this experience, I can wholeheartedly say Conquest is my favorite team. I want to thank all the CQ players, darkside, Launders and Helium who were casting, and especially CEVO and MLG, who decided to let us be hyped and even supported us. I can say this is one of the best days of my life if not the best. I've always wanted to make an influence on the CS community. With this I finally did, and I wasn't even intending to. I feel straight up blessed.

BTW, seeing your group singlehandedly blow up all over twitter is pretty cool to see
