my thoughts on alison & 'catfish'

i always had a feeling alison was fake after realizing she posts the same 5 pictures of herself over and over. pictures that were clearly outdated and looked like they were from the early 2000's.
my initial assumption was that she was just an older insecure woman using old pictures of herself. older women and men on facebook do this often. so i muted her last year because i could not stand the cringe (and boob spam is awkward when you scroll through twitter in public)

but then this happened.
she's not an older woman. she's not even a she.
who cares though. this happens all of the time, right?
but alison apparently had a man interested in her that she 'dated' and promised she would visit. this is where it stops being 'hurhur all i did was use a gurls picture i'm sorry' and gets fucked up. these people waste the lives and love of others as if it's just a game. they are not real, they forget the person on the other end is real as well. it's just roleplay to them.
most of you have already seen my tweets about this the past few days. although this situation is quite amusing (minus the fire, that's actually really sad) this is a serious situation to me because i have been in a few internet "communities" and have witnessed the shit these types of people pull on others countless times. they are depressed people who live vicariously through fake personas, but the shit they are capable of and almost ALWAYS pull is disgusting. it becomes a game, to pull at people's heart strings and play with the empathy and emotions of others who trust and befriend you. some ask for money. others just do it for the thrill and attention. but it's actually quite hilarious how almost all of the 'catfish' i have known fake cancer and illness stories too. some of these people even fake suicides when they want to quit their persona. leaving their friends with the trauma of believing somebody they loved has killed themselves. like it's no big deal.

if steven just talked about vidya or whatever using alison's pics and was a normalass person this would not be such a big deal. but literally the entire fucking persona revolved around "i'm a gay woman with big boobs who does not have a uterus and was abused by my ex boyfriend. fuck u anti-gg we are not sock puppets i'm a REAL GAMERGURL check out my boobs" telling WU she's not a real woman. pretending to cry about tim telling a sock puppet joke. pretending to talk to the fucking FBI. and pretending to have cancer? pretending to get abused? pretending to get pregnant? what incredible character development.
goobergoop would have accepted steven if he was himself, just like they did with everyone. but that wasn't enough. being a woman is awesome and everyone knows this despite feminists trying so fucking hard to deny it. and being a woman on the internet is even more awesome. that's why countless men pretend to be chicks on WoW and shit. free stuff. white knights. whatever man. having a vagina on the internet is the ultimate get out of jail card. too bad reverse image search exists and literally fucking everything has a camera and mic on it nowadays. you fucks have no excuse. timestamp or gtfo. shoe on head or gtfo.
i am glad they came clean. but after hours of pathetic back pedaling and copouts. "muh PS3 muh laptop has no camera muh phone has no camera" i can't help but feel this person is just sorry that they got caught after 5 fucking years of doing this. worst part is they will likely not stop. they will just find another 'community' of people to play with and prey on their empathy as they have done with communties before gabergabe.

it's not even a big deal. but when money (and apparently love) is involved, it is.

just a protip; do not get romantically involved with people until you have seen them on camera talking to you. it's not an AOL chat room in 1999 anymore. but catfish will always exist as long as gullible people do.
