Clarifying a Couple of the Doublelift Issues in Official Capacity
I responded in r/CLG to a few concerns regarding Peter's release. I'm putting them up here for higher visibility. I suspect the thread responses are lost to time.
Issue #1 * - Doublelift was released with no warning at 2AM.
Many of the issues regarding this situation were years in the making. Doublelift was informed at the beginning of this split about some specific issues. He was followed up with throughout the split on those issues, by our coaching staff and CLG management. I had an initial talk with him days before the "2am conversation" stating that his removal and this outcome was likely. Then the talk happened (at 7PM, not 2AM, for what it's worth) informing him of the final decision. There was a lot of thought, planning, and communication on both sides on this issue.
Issue #2 * - Doublelift was released with no plan.
I was in constant talks with Reginald regarding Doublelift joining TSM. I made sure that TSM was a **guaranteed** option before finally releasing Doublelift. We coordinated with TSM for the announcement (check the TSM announcement and ours, they're within minutes of each other.) I worked hard to make sure Doublelift had a future and a career with TSM. I even worked on his salary and benefits with Reginald directly. I then discussed directly with Doublelift what he thought was fair. CLG didn't release him into the wilderness, it was a decision we made after we knew he was taken care of.

A little more: I'm impressed by how Reginald treats his players contractually. Doublelift has a great deal and opportunity on TSM. The team environment and organizational culture fits him a lot better. Working with Reginald in a business capacity is thus far rewarding and painless. TSM is a solid organization and I have a lot of respect for Reginald since we got to know each other.
My hope is that this clears up some of the misconceptions around this issue. I've respect for both sides of the table - CLG and Doublelift - and I don't want to see either misrepresented.
