We are looking for a support and jungle. Here is why.
Well I don't really know what I'm going to say here. I just know it needs to be said. I want everyone to know what has been going to down with Aware and stuff in these last few weeks.
The five of us: myself, Shame, Blacksye, Tsmall and Candyman have played together for years. We had a challenger cup team on PC that was decent but ultimately we decided to just play for fun. When we came to Xbox and had early success in tournaments, we decided to take our team seriously and make a real effort to be a great team. We added Mystx as a coach and started scrimming regularly.
Fast forward to after MLG New Orleans. We had placed 3rd and played great as a team, but our matches with eGr were not close. We agreed that there was a significant gap between us and the top teams, eGr and eLevate. Mystx was very adamant that we were lacking in two positions: support and jungle. He said that Peny was coming over from PC and wanted to play for us and that it would be a significant upgrade. This wasn't the first time Mystx had wanted us to drop Shame, but this time he was offering a real replacement. I agreed to pick up Peny. It was at this time that Bronx messaged Mystx saying that he was interested in coming to Xbox. Again, Mystx was adamant that adding Bronx to the team would improve us in the long run. In what I thought was in the best interest of the team, I agreed to the changes, as did Tsmall, Candyman and our analyst, Baka.
It sucks when you're breaking up a team that is a group of friends that have played together for so long, but I felt that as captain, it was my job to do what was best for the team.
We knew that we were taking a risk, and it clearly showed when we lost in the first round of yesterday's UMG qualifier, losing our last chance at making UMG Atlanta. It was after that that Baka and myself started hearing rumors that Mystx was up to something. We heard that he was planning on taking Peny and Bronx and starting another team with those guys. So we called a meeting with me, Baka, Tsmall, Candyman and Mystx to ask him straight up. He told us that he was 100% committed to our team and us getting better. We believed him.
Today we got reliable info that Mystx was going to form a new team with Peny, Bronx and Shame. The same person he told me multiple times over the course of many months to kick from the team. I asked Peny and he confirmed. So here we are, less than 48 hours from the start of the SPL with 3 players on our roster. Blacksye isn't sure he wants to come back and Shame has his new team.
I can't put into words how betrayed and used we all feel. This is someone who we trusted. He was free to go make a team with his friends whenever he wanted and we would've supported him. But he apparently felt it necessary to hurt us, hurt our team, before he did that. So with that said we will be looking for a support and jungler to play under Aware Gaming.
