Fnatic experience

Hello there! I would like to share my experience about being a "fnatic member" and also my thoughts about the players, the staff and maybe even a bit about Riot games.

Lets talk about the beginning

Basics:
So as some of you might not know, I was a part of the Fnatic team since they had to take 3 subs for the team. Why me and not another person? I have no clue since I am not a really close friend of yellowstar (we only duoq 2-3 times a month) but I felt honored and didn't feel any pressure in being their sub since its only to meet the Riot rule.
After they qualified for Worlds they contacted me again to be a part of their adventure with them and join them in Paris for the tournament. They paid my plane, food, hotel and transportation to the event.

Finally, I met the other Fnatic members. I was really shy because I didn't feel like it was my place to be there, that I didn't deserve to be there at Worlds. Thats why you didn't see me at the start of the ceremony in Paris, even if I was able to be there and also even if it's a french crowd. I didn't feel like I deserved the same cheers that the champions of EU recieved.

Once scrims started the atmosphere became really serious, and it was really an honor to be a part of the scrims as they were very educational.

The first week of worlds the team struggled a bit (ended 1-2) and it was a huge surprise. It was a wake up call for everyone, which is good for the future but felt bad for the morale because you had to play with pressure.

After this, they worked really hard, because we all knew that they had the potential to make it out of the group stage.

After week 2, their goal was accomplished and I was really happy to see their happy faces after the struggle from the 1st week, and was impressed by the hard work they put every day. I don't have much to say about those days, it was just straight hard work and seriousness, which was enjoyable to watch, and I could see how the players and staff are like.

About the players/Staff/Riotgames

Yellowstar: First of all this guy is the one who gave me the oppurtunity and I would like to thank him for this. I think what people say about him in social media is totally true: he is a hard worker, a shot caller, a true captain, but he wants not only to improve as a person he is invested in the team so that they can improve as a team. He is the kind of guy you can speak very easily with about the game, about life etc.

Rekkles: Really nice and friendly person. Rekkles is a very demanding person, not from the team, but from himself. He wants to do better after every game and talks about how he could do better. (AHQ game 2 is a good example of this)

Febiven: I was pleasantly surprised that Febiven was the person I spent most of my time with. He has really changed since he joined Fnatic and is a person that motivates you to want to be better. I think he is extremely talented (I rate him top 3 mid laner of Worlds based on what we all could see and what I could see) and he spends most of his free time playing the game looking for ways to become a better player. I feel he deserves so much more credit and was happy to see the French crowd cheer his name because he truly deserved it. I am a mid laner mself so it was nice to play near him and it motivated me.

Reign0ver: I didn't interact with him that much but I feel that he is a disciplined hard worker as a jungler and an example for everyone. He will always want to improve, he is like the guy who takes all the notes in class, listens intently to the teacher (players, coach) as best as he can so he can put it into practice.

Huni: Not much to say that you don't all already know, he is a really funny and friendly, goofy guy. He knows when he needs to be serious. I was surprised that he is the one who talks the most in scrims, both before and after the game. Make SURE to never change, Huni! stay like you are 24/7 ;)

Deilor: He has insane gameknowledge, and he knows how to do his job as a coach. He is the master-mind of the team before the game and when Riot gave him the MVP of the week, I can say that he really deserved it. I have huge respect for what he does for the team once I saw what he did first hand.

Oliver: The manager of the team, sort of like the mom of every player. He is really inversted into the team and tries to make everyones life easier. He is really emotional towards the team and that shows how much he truly stands behind his team

Analysts: Didn't speak to them so much, but I can say that they love their job and love the time they spend working with the team. They help each player just focus on the game and play to the best of their ability

Riotgames: Very nice management. They provided everything that was necessary and are very easy to approach about anything that you needed.

If I had to describe every player in one word sentence
Yellowstar: Conductor/Captain
Rekkles: Hard-Worker
Febiven: FORMIDABLE player (only he will understand)
Reignover: Disciplined Studen
Huni: Huni ^-^
Deiloer: EL PROFESSOR/The teacher
Oliver: Mom

My participation

I was with them for most of the time and watched their scrims and on occasion gave them my opinion of what had happened. It felt great that when I tell something about one game of scrim (very few but still) they took what I had to say seriously and I felt like a Fnatic family for a bit. Even though I tried to be invisible as to not distract them, they treated me super well and took me seriously so it felt really nice. The bad part is that I don't really know any of them, so being attached to the team is really difficult. Its like going to a new football team and at the start, its difficult, but finally now after, you can see what you went through. Also, there are 6 computers in the room so I was allowed to play the game while they were scrimming but ... (*PS1)

As some of you know, I will not follow the team to London. Even though I would to love, its not up to Fnatic or Riot, but more for me personally.

My hope is to one day be a part of this Fnatic team as the 6th player/member. Not like a easyhoon, but somoene you can rely on in an emergency, or when you need opinions on the game like an analyst.
