Another very interesting point here that Cloud Imperium Games has been disrespecting, from the start.

http://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2015...funding-scams/

"The FTC advises backers that if you learn about a crowdfunding scam:
1-) File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
2-) File a complaint with your state Attorney General.
3-) Warn other consumers — comment on the creator’s profile on the crowdfunding site.
"

The point #3 definitely has been disrespect from the beginning for Cloud Imperium Games. While you can do that using the Kickstarter comment section, without probably having your warnings deleted or your user banned, Cloud Imperium Games created his own crowdfunding platform in his website, but does not allow that people who think that they are doing wrong things with the backers money, alert other consumers about their thoughts and why they think or took such conclusions.
Specially if the consumer decide to persist alerting, as the company refuses to prove them wrong. They actually try to pretend that commenting there "is a privilege" which shows one more time the ignorance about the rules of the business that they involved themselves to grab money to produce their game.
They actually went beyond of that level recently, and banned a consumer - Derek Smart - who did tried to alert consumers not even there, but in his own personal blog, sending a clear message of fear to fans of what they are capable of to disrespect rights that they actually have, per the own Federals.
This is another example of Cloud Imperium Games working totally outside of what the Federals want anyone working when crowdfunding.
And, obviously, a consumer disrespect and abuse, which make them deserve even more attention of everyone who wants the crowdfunding actually to succeed.
At this point, even if Cloud Imperium Games finish his game and be all that people wants (which in my opinion is not going to happen), anyway, they definitely should suffer penalties/fines through lawsuits, so they learn that the means do not justify the ends, and all their attitude should be punished to serve as an example for better days of this business model, to be more and more consumer-friendly, instead a one-way street road that people, ignorantly, believes that it is, and that's why they end holding their pockets to invest in more projects.
Specially due their high profile, they are setting a bad example for others to follow. So, if there is legit consumers that are backers of Star Citizen, they should start to think in the great scheme of the things, instead backing up things, that if winning more supporters of such practices between developers will make the game industry worst, not better, for gamers.
