My thoughts on #Dune 7

Two big themes that FH introduced in CHAPTERHOUSE: DUNE were democracy and the reintegration of advanced machines into human society. I think this is where Dune 7 was meant to go, taking us from authoritarian rule and a fanatical proscription against machines to democratic rule and machines and humans living in harmony, each helping the other to progress, as Leto II envisioned.

Defeating the independent face dancers would require humans to give up their slavish dependence on rules, including the sacred laws laid down by the Butlerian Jihad. Every rule can become a weight around your neck - another point that FH hammered home in Ch:D, and in the concept of the Golden Path in general. Thus in order to bring the Dune saga to a full conclusion, it would be necessary to unmake the "prime directive" that was at its very heart - a fitting revolution and a satisfying conclusion.
