Queen + Adam Lambert- A classic reinvented (Exclusive interview for Ahora Noticias by Leandro Villagrán- Chile)

Interviewer: Do you recognize this song (We are the champions)? Of course you do, this is a classic of the '70s, that we will hear again at the end of the month, because Queen is coming again to Chile, reinvented and with a new vocalist.
We had an exclusive interview with them in Brasil, where they're going to celebrate 30 years from the first time they were at Rock in Rio.
Brian: When we lost Freddie, Roger and I thought it was over, we'll never do this again.
Roger: We are like vampires feeding with young blood. We're lucky that we are still able to play well. I think we're playing better than ever.

(over We Will Rock You)- Interviewer: One song has now more meaning that ever, the one that you can sing also with your palms. A classsic stadium anthem that has been uniting generations for almost 40 years, the ones that grew up with their music and this new rockers.

(over Under Pressure)- Interviewer- To talk about them is to go back to the beginning of rock in UK, the land that also gave birth to other bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The formula of 4 repeated itself with them too: Brian, Roger, John and the charismatic Freddie.

(over a brazilian song- images from Rio)- Interviewer- 30 years ago was written an important chapter in the history of rock. It was here, in Brasil, very near the warm beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
(over Love of my life)- Interviewer: On January 11th 1985, Queen opened the first edition of Rock in Rio.
Brian: I think we were shocked, the way the audience understood every word of every song. At that time it wasn't usual that people sang the songs, Brasil created something special from Love of my life.

(over This thing called love, images of the stage in Rio)- Interviewer- It doesn't matter if it rains, there's wind or it's very hot, they've been working for 4 months to build the City of Rock. They build it every 2 years on the outside of Rio de Janeiro for Rock in Rio, one of the more important festivals of the world.
The City of Rock is getting ready to celebrate this double anniversary, the reunion than in few hours sold 85,000 tickets.

Male Fan: Because of Adam, Queen is back in Rio and in the festival, thanks to him I'm going to see them, so Thanks Adam!
Female Fan: I like Queen since I was a little girl and I’ve learned to love Adam.

(over We Will Rock you, NYE)- Interviewer- From the original group only remains Roger and Brian. They are joined by Adam Lambert, a young American singer that became known through American Idol.

(Adam's AI audition- NYE BR)- From that audition with the classic Bohemian Rhapsody to take the place once occupied by Freddie Mercury.
Adam: I had to figure out how to stand on the stage and not imitate him, but at the same time not stray very far from him because that wouldn’t make any sense. I tried to focus not in what fans think, but instead on what the songs are about, what was the intention of the melodies, the stories of the songs, and I think it was the more honest way of doing it.
Interviewer- They have been playing together for five years, and you can see the chemistry between them.
Adam: They are always in fashion.
Roger: (points to Adam) very in fashion, (points to himself) a bit in fashion, (points to Brian) not in fashion! It´s great to be doing this after all this years, and I think Adam has made that possible with his fantastic voice and his command of the stage.

(over Fat bottomed girls) Interviewer- Don´t stop them now is the name of this tour that brings them back to South America, the tour that sold out 67 concerts all over the world, that will be arriving in Chile on the 30th September, only stop here from Brian, Roger and Adam. And they promise to bring back to life all the classics of one of the most influential bands of all time.
