#Rohingya IDPs of #Sittwe, #Myanmar ,are starving now
There are more than 70000 Rohingya refugees in the concentration camps of Sittwe since 2012. Thein Sein Government's preplanned violence of 2012 caused more than 140000 IDPs. more than 70000 are in Sittwe IDP camps. Nearly 1 million Rohingya have been being kept in genocidal blockage by Thein Sein Government of Myanmar.
Every first or second week of the month, WFP provides ration to IDPs but this month it hasn't provided ration to IDPs in Sittwe yet. When one of the camp committee called IDP office to provide ration, one of the WFP staff said they have no ration, President Thein Sein requested WFP to provide rice to Rakhine floods victims and ran out rice in store.
Rohingya IDPs are also floods victims,and they depend on only ration provided by WFP. As WFP hasn't provided ration in this month, most of them are starving.
Kabir Ahmed from Manzi said "Myanmar Government has been persecuting and treating us like animal since 1970s. Now WFP also follows the method of Thein Sein government, first priority to Rakhine who have full citizen right and most of the aids have already reached to them. Many organizations and government help Rakhine ignoring us as if we don't deserve living on Earth. We are also human being too. If we are resettled our own places and give us right to work, we don't demand ration. We have no right to work, how can we survive without ration."
Maason said " As we have no rice to cook, we are starving. Today, I went to Dabaing village and begged rice for my children. I don't know what should we do tomorrow."
Since July, WFP cut ration of 27 families in Parein and 517 people in Yangthay of Mrauk U, and 61 people in KyaukPyu IDP without reason: most of them are starving too, some beg to survive and some who feel ashame to beg eat only one time instead of meals.
We plead WFP to provide ration as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
@Aungaungsittwe
