Update on Lee Ryan
Further to reports on Lee's vocal issues, I can confirm Lee will require surgery, which has been scheduled within the next ten days, to remove a cyst that is growing on his vocal chords and thus restricting his ability to sing.
After he has had surgery Lee will work with a vocal coach to bring his voice back to full strength. The process can be a slow one but we expect to have him back on stage with Blue in October. It needs to be stressed that recovery times for this type of operation vary from person to person.
At this point in time I have decided to postpone Blue's European tour scheduled to start in early October to a later date yet to be announced. This will allow Lee's voice ample opportunity to recover at a natural pace without undue stress.
Lee is extremely humbled by the messages of support that he has received and extends his thanks for all the good wishes.. The need for surgery and his deteriorating voice of late has not been easy for him but he is looking forward to the recovery and being back on stage with Blue as they look forward to “Fifteen Years of Blue” in 2016.
