Our message to the @OntMinLabour Changing Workplace Review Panel...

All workers in Ontario, whether publicly or privately employed, unionized or non-unionized, are in need of better protections. Precarious work is growing rapidly across the province. The Ontario Government needs to lead by example, not only via the Changing Workplaces Review but as an employer themselves.

We endorsed the Workers’ Action Centre's recommendations from their Working On the Edge report: http://www.workersactioncentre.org/wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/2015/04/StillWorkingOnTheEdge-Exec-Summary-web.pdf

We also asked the panel to give consideration to: the full elimination of ESA and LRA exemptions, enforcing equal standards for all work types including part time, full time, contract, temporary, casual, student and seasonal, and language on mandatory minimum hours and shift change notice.

We are all in this together!
