Casters CAN talk about bugs.

Saw a conversation pop up reddit today and wanted to set some things straight.

It was in reference to a Rek'Sai bug that happened today in an EU LCS game:

Later in the thread someone referenced a Deman comment from last year:

"Yeah, i think Deman put in his leaving statement that they were told to not call out bugs
I got into trouble a fair amount though, one of the things I was really disappointed with was the direction the casting was going in. Back in Season 2 we had no limits, we were open to talk about a game bug if it happened or maybe something being unbalanced and that's why everyone was currently playing it.[1]
edit: - Linked it above, it was in Demans AMA a few months back"

Basically I wanted to set some things straight.

We, as Riot casters, are absolutely allowed to discuss bugs as they happen in the game. You can go back and find numerous occasions where myself and other casters talk in-depth about bugs. I've even called for a slow motion replay DURING A GAME because I wanted to see if the Shen ult bugged.

We are always trying to talk about what is most relevant to the story of the match. If it's a bug, we'll talk about it.

Sometimes you also straight up don't notice something. Most of the time it's not even a bug. I always err on the side of clarity. Sometimes it looks like a bug, but isn't. Sometimes it's spectator only, like back in the day when champions would have blue buff circling around them but wouldn't actually have buffs. I would mention it and move on.

What casters aren't supposed to do is tunnel on a bug over and over again when more relevant stuff is happening.

IDK i'm rambling..

TL;DR, Casters are allowed to talk about bugs. But what can you really do as a caster? other than "It looked like that reksai went through the wall and snapped back, we'll have to look at it later" Which is basically what happened in the caster booth when the "Sejuani" bug happened at MSI. It was mentioned.
