Quest-verse (for @SonofDari )

Kizár lay on her sister's bed, a sheet of paper laid across a wooden board in front of her as she made detailed sketches of her memories of Eru Náro. Lossanárë said in an armchair with another drawing board on her knees, scrawling out complex diagrams of arcane concepts, trying to lay out the enchantments like those she embedded in the original "Maker's Fire" so Kíli could go over them later.

Kizár absently scribbled a small note about the smith's mark that had been hidden on the underside of the crossguard that she no longer recalled the design of, mentioning that it had been House Ortan and that a Raven and lightening bolt would look better in it's place. On the other side she also added a small flaming sword with the star of Fëanor in a circle over it. The original sword only had the encircled star as Losá had only taken a fondness to the flaming sword later, as a personal snub at the Chantry's Sword of Mercy symbol - Andraste's Sword pointed upwards in defiance to false mercy.

The runes engraved on the blade were not changed at all, one side had been an invocation of Ilúvatar, the other a vow to punish the unjust with fire. Even when Maferath had first translated it for her, before she got her stoneform back from Irving and her memories with it, Elenaria had liked the meaning she picked up in the words.

Losá had been spending quite a bit of her time studying crafting with the various smiths on the island, and aside from hoping to help Kíli recreate her old sword, was also designing a new one for herself, wanting something that showed the new step in her life. Kizár had only seen some of her earliest ideas so far, but what she had seen struck her as drawing strongly on the design ideas they had seen had formed here on Himring - Ñoldor designs with Searider influences.

Kizár set her graphite stick in the box of drawing implements and got up from the bed, wandering over to look over Losá's shoulder. Losá paused for half a second before continuing, carefully correcting a detail of some complex calculations that were laid out around a diagonal drawing of a sword - not Eru Náro but the latest version of her own planned sword. This design had a straight double-edged blade with Ñoldor knotwork running down the fuller, a crossguard with a gentle double curve to it, handle with vine-like inlay and a pommel like an unopened flower bud. It came across to Kizár as a mix of Valinorian and oddly Thedosian styles, eschewing the Second Age and onwards style of scimitar-like curving single-edged blades.

"I want something akin to what I wielded in Thedas," Lossanárë spoke up softly, having picked up the line of Kizár's thoughts. "Those swords may be good for those who have used them for the last Age or two, but this I know better."

"Mmm, I know," Kizár answered. She had seen Lossanárë in the practice yard, trying to work with one of the curved blades, it had not suited her much and she had swapped back to the long dwarven blade she had been given in Cardemir, even if it was shorter and thicker than she would have liked.

"May I have a look at the sheet for Eru Náro?" Losá asked. Kizár nodded and snagged the sheet she had left on the bed, handing it over.

Losá looked closely for a moment and corrected some of the arcane notes. She paused for a moment while looking at the whole think before reaching to add something to the picture of the sword itself - just under the bottom end of the runes, just above the crossguard, she draw another figure which, while small, Kizár could see was the double-headed griffon symbol of Warden-Commanders, but with a small circle added between them, with a tiny star of Fëanor inside it.

Kizár smiled a little embarrassed, hands covering her cheeks. "I did not think of putting that on it, but it is supposed to be *my* sword, so why not?"

"That's what I was thinking," Losá said as she started drawing a more detailed version of the Grey Warden symbol in a an empty space. "Now it is a question of whether Kíli feels ready to work on it."

"We can ask, if we can find who's forge he's currently hidden himself away in," Kizár said with a grin, Kíli's pursuit of learning everything he can still taking up much of his time.

Lossanárë shrugged. "It'll be fun trying to track him down!" she smiled as she started curling the sheets up in a roll of paper.

"At least you know where most of the smiths hide around here," Kizár smirked. While she had also been learning a bit more crafting herself, she was nowhere near even her sister's level and had only studied with some of the smiths who would accept beginners in the craft.

"Even I don't know where everyone hides around here, I would never have found the forge Rú set himself up in if Telpë hadn't told me where it was," Losá quipped as she pulled on a pair of indoor slippers. "Shall we go?" she asked as Kizár finished pulling on her own discarded shoes.

"Sure thing!" Kizár quipped with a smile.
