My take on the CLG situation

As someone who has worked with CLG and has a decent relationship with most parties involved in this story I want to shed some light on a few things.

First and foremost, don't assume what you read is true. When I worked with CLG Black, it was very obvious that the group was very close. More like a family than most teams. The manager of CLG Black, Samantha (or Samy), has always looked out for the players. She's wanted nothing but the best for everyone on the team. At first her and I would butt heads from time to time, but eventually her and I got along and are now friends even after I left the team to work with Misfits. I would never in a million years consider her the type of person to hold a player hostage to be vindictive.

Time to move to the article directly

"But after fielding numerous offers from top challenger teams, Counter Logic allegedly isn't letting its star AD carry out of his contract—despite apparent promises to the contrary."

As of yesterday, May 3rd, Misfits offered Stixxay a position as Substitute ADC for the AlphaDraft Tournament. Stixxay told management he wants to move to the team full-time if the spot is offered. Which is will most likely be offered. Samantha was MORE than willing to work with stixxay to figure out what needs to be done. I want to make it very clear that CLG knew stixxay was looking at other teams for a while and were ok with it and working with him. So im not sure where the whole "not letting him out of his contract" information came from, but its wrong. As of YESTERDAY they were willing to work with him to allow him to play for misfits.

"Elias and Georgallidis haven't made good on those promises, declining a number of offers from teams willing to pay the $10,000 required to buy Hayes out from his contract"

This statement is irrelevant. Alex Ich got several offers from other teams, so did crumbzz. Just because you decline an offer for Buy-out doesn't mean shit. IF Trevor WANTS to be bought-out of his contract then CLG is forced to comply. Thats the point of a BUYOUT CLAUS... this is where the article begins to get way out of hand.

"Most recently, the team allegedly blocked Hayes from moving to a new challenger team based out of New York, who intend to play this upcoming split"

if this is the team that I think they are talking about, no... they didnt block him. The misfits ADC, Intense, decided to leave msifits, so the ADC position on Misfits became available....

"In addition, Hayes has recently been kicked from the team’s Skype group and has very little communication with the team outside of Elias and Georgallidis."

Because the chat is used for communication between the strategic staff (analysts, coaches, etc) and the players. Stixxay had been playing with a different team for several days at that point. CLG knew he was interested in joining other teams. Why would you keep him in the skype chat where strategic decisions are being made? The answer is you dont.

"prevented him from trying out for the AD carry position on recently LCS-qualified Team Dragon Knights"

UMMMMMMMM no.... this is just wrong. When the ADC position became available on Misfits, that was stixxay's primary focus, as the spot is pretty much all his. again as of May 3rd, Stixxay believes Intense to be getting the TDK adc position. He is more interested in misfits than ANYONE else.

again, all of this information is confirmed as of May 3rd.

The challenger scene isn't very transparent, I understand that. But as someone who's worked in the challenger scene in several different capacities, very rarely is something as it seems. There are always reasons something is done. The relationships between teams is important. The relationships between players and management/ownership is private. If an organization says they do not want to comment on something, don't assume the worst. That's poor journalism. I want to make it very clear that I hope nothing but the best for stixxay, misfits, Intense, and CLG. I am not saying that any of them have given false information or lied to the author. I am saying the author pulled the trigger on an article that is both premature and wrong on several levels. Assuming that the situation is true because CLG didn't offer a statement. There were several times when, as manager of Misfits, I was asked to give a statement on situations like Alex subbing for TDK. It's not that we don't want to look like the bad guy. Sometimes we don't make statements because not enough information is solidified that a statement is required. When you are going to make personal attacks at an organization always fact check and make sure you have SOME information from the orgs management/ownership.
