2PM Wooyoung, "I'm Confident I Can't Be Swayed by a Woman"

2PM Wooyoung, whose dance is thorough all the way to the tips of his fingers and who uses his sweet singing voice with just a touch of pride to enchant others, will release his solo single "R.O.S.E" on March 4th.

"Roses are such a beautiful flower, but why do they have thorns? That sort of question is what gave start to the song. That was just one of many things which I found intriguing."

Including the groovy and catchy "R.O.S.E," all of the single's recorded songs and lyrics were written by him, and when asked what kind of woman is the image of a "rose," he answered:

"Someone who protects herself by donning thorns in order to not get hurt. Furthermore, she's able to hurt her partner with those same thorns. My chest grew tight when I wrote the lyrics for the single with the image of such a weak and sad woman. Women who wear a cool facade but are different on the inside also suit the image of 'rose.'"

Coincidentally, are you attracted to women with a "rose" image?

"No (laugh). However, it's also a song that depicts a man who understands such a woman and has the confidence to not be swayed. Like me (laugh). The man that appears in all the songs recorded on this single are projections of myself."

To which he showed us a bit of a mischievous smile. You can witness such a face as well as various other Wooyoung faces at his solo nationwide tour of 9 concerts which has already commenced.

"I think the performances will be different from those of 2PM. What I really want to do is sing my heart out and dance. It would be nice if the people who come to watch me live laugh and cry for me. I would be happy if the members come to the venue, but they're all respectively busy [so it's alright if they don't come]. I don't think it will make me lonely if they don't come. Because their feelings of support already reach through to me."

He spoke of working vigorously toward his solo promotions while feeling the strong trust of the members who are separated from him. Lastly, we asked if he was going to have a magical and sexy performance and display the muscles he had trained well for 2PM concerts, to which he said:

" Yes, I am. For about 10 seconds (laugh)."

With a smile full of playfulness, his confidence could be felt.

- What are you obsessed with right now?
Myself (laugh). Not that I love myself, though.

- Where do you want to go most?
The sun. Its existence is really mysterious and it interests me.

- What is something you're secretly planning?
There's a keyboard I use for practice during my stay in Japan and I want another one. I'm going to buy one tomorrow! It's a secret (laugh).

- Why do you think people love?
Ahh...... that's a tough question. I really want to know, too. When it comes to love, there is love with a special person who becomes your partner, but I also think love exists for family and work. I think those two things are different kinds of love, and I think the reason to keep living would die out without either kind of love. Since there are two types of love I believe it makes life more enjoyable.
