How we spent one week with Adam Lambert & Queen
Hi BBs! As I promised, here's my story of when we spent one week with Adam Lambert and Queen.
I always wanted to go on a trip where we followed Adam on his tour, where during this period, we could get to see new countries, culture and cities. The opportunity happened this time as we decided to go to Cologne and Vienna. It's weird, because normally I didn't think I would ever go to Cologne. But as soon as I saw that he had a concert on his birthday, we knew we wanted to be there, no matter where it would be. I can say, I didn't regret that we went to Cologne, and not just because we met Adam, but it really is a cute and modern city! (We chose Vienna as our second show, since it's really close to Hungary, and it would be weird for us to miss that one ha)
So with my best friend, Réka (@ShadyRekuu) and our friend, Rebi (@outlawoflambert) we went to Cologne after planning the trip for months.
We landed on 26th Jan, and the weather was rainy, so we were a little bit grumpy. At first sighting, the city wasn't looking good. It was small and all and we kept asking ourselves, what the heck are we doing in Cologne? Why? How? haha
Well, for the afternoon we were in a better mood, we didn't care about the rain anymore so we went to the city centre and it was amazing. We went to the Dome and oh God; I can't even describe the feeling. We felt at peace with ourselves, like when you feel you can finally let go of the bad things in your life and soul. It was nothing but amazing. On the night, we were drinking and watching Adam on Idol - what a casual Monday, I could get used to that haha
On 27th Jan, we had seen most of the monuments in the city, like the Dome in the Sun's light, the fragrant house (which is really small and nothing as you would imagine it), and we found a Queen + Adam Lambert poster. Furthermore, in the afternoon, when we were shopping in a boutique, Lay Me Down started to play, and we freaked out haha! That was nothing but a sign. :)
However, we felt like it was impossible to catch Adam since there were no pictures taking lately with fans in the USA, as he hasn't really been up for taking pics. Also, we thought he was coming to Cologne on 29th Jan, since he loves Paris and he was having fun with Rufus last night.
So, based on our own instintcs, we got up at 10am. We were completely relaxed since we thought Adam was still in Paris. Réka wanted to buy gifts and all, so we had a hot breakfast (first time since we got there) and we went to the shops. We were having a lot of fun in the city. Like, you couldn't imagine, but we were like, should I buy this one or that one, oh I don't know, maybe this one looks ever better etc.
God only knew that Adam was doing the same thing in the exact same city where we were. The funny thing was that we were really tired after the long walks we had taken during the day, so we decided we were going back to our hotel after Réka bought some presents for her family. It was logical, because we knew that 29th Jan is going to be killer in the cold for 12-13 hours, as we would be waiting for QAL. Yes, sure, we wanted to go to his hotel, to see what's up, but maybe around 7pm, because we thought he would be coming at night or ain the morning, but definitely tomorrow; so, around 2pm or so, we went to an information centre where Réka found a couple of cute fridge magnets. Whilst she was shopping, I decided to surf the Internet and I was chatting with one of my friends, Klau. Then when I looked around, to see if Réka and Rebi were finished or not, I saw a similar face. I wasn’t sure if she was one of my friends from Twitter or not, because I had never met her before. Then I saw she had a Queen + Adam Lambert bag, so I was 100% sure haha! When I was going to say hi, she beat me to it, like "oh my god, you are Vivien, right?”
Who knew that she was going to be our angel haha. Réka finally finished her shopping in 5mins, and she immediately knew the lady. I don't remember how, but for Réka's question, I asked her, does she think Adam is still in Paris? And then she told us he's in Cologne, he’d arrived like 6 hours before - Rufus had posted a picture. Oh my god guys, we were shocked! It was really funny, because if we hadn't wasted our time in the shops, or if we had gone to the Lanxess arena, as we had originally planned, we would never have bumped into her, and we would never have caught Adam in Cologne. She really helped us, and I couldn't have been more grateful.
So we thanked her. We told her how excited we were, and we went to his hotel. We were not sure if he was there or not, but it was the biggest hotel in Cologne - I mean, kind of the best one, so we felt like we should give it a chance. The hotel was maybe 5 mins away from us, by the way.
We got there around 3pm, and I was asking around, but of course they couldn't tell us anything, so we decided to wait a bit, and see what would happen... Someone told us that he was not in the hotel, but in the city, and we were not sure if he meant that he was in a different hotel or maybe he was just looking around. However, we felt like we should stay where we were. I have to say the doorman was pretty rude with us, and I would say yes, it is his job.
But then a strange thing happened, and I'm still unsure about that one.
So he basically told us we had to leave, but we didn't and we met a Glambert, who was waiting behind the bush lol. It was Selina. :)
After 10 mins, a bunch of people came and gave a high five to our "friend", the doorman. I was positive they were Queen fans, since they looked like Queen fans, and they had guitars and pictures with them. So, the doorman was really nice with them, and I think he told them that Roger was coming around 4pm, since it was 3.40pm. We were still not sure what was happening. We thought maybe they are a kind of band or something... but then 3 luxury, midnight black cars came, and Réka started to push me, or maybe it was Selina, and she kept saying, Oh my god!
Then we saw Adam. Oh God, I can’t describe how handsome he looked. Everything was on point. I felt like was going to pass out or something. Then I was scared, because the Queen fans were blocking us, so Adam couldn't see us, and since nobody wanted him, everyone was with Roger and all (it's strange because Réka told me Roger was here, after we met Adam, but I only saw him lol). The fans wouldn't let us get nearer to Adam, so he still couldn't see us. I saw that he was on his way to the hotel door, so, I'm not even kidding, I even slipped under someone's armpit. Then, the girls were following me. I saw that Adam was looking at the hotel front door, and I thought, OK, this is it; we are not going to meet him. Everyone went quiet; I think we were in shock. I don't know, but I just said, "Adam please!” in a sweet tone, since I already felt that he was not going to see us.
But I was wrong. He turned around, like oh my god, who is looking for me, and we had this please don't go expression on our face lol, and my mind just kept telling me, that it's going to be a hi guys, and he leaves, but then, he had a HUGE smile on his face, and yes, he said "hi, guys" and suddenly Adam freaking sex god Lambert was standing in front of me. Guys, for once in my life, I was speechless. I have met him twice already, and I could always keep my cool, but now I couldn’t think straight. I had a pretty hard time last year, so many things happened, so it was a miracle that he turned around. Somehow I managed to say, “you look nice today,” and I even managed to stroke his chest (I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming or anything) and he said “Aww, sweet, thank you!” :) Then I said the second thing that was on my mind, something like, "we are such huge fans of yours from Hungary", and told me, "yeah I know", and he smiled, and it was like Adam was thinking, how many times do you want to tell me this, I know, girl! I was like, oh ok. Réka was like, Adam freaking Lambert knows us or what the heck - seems like it’s a yes! After, we were chatting for a bit, and then he asked if we wanted to take a photo since it was freezing (You tell me, Adam! :D).
We said, “yeah, sure,” and then he just grabbed my waist. He had that handsome smile on his face, and I was like, what the heck is happening, I’m so not ready to take a selfie with this man (I thought Selina was going to be first).
My hand started to shake (how awkward oh god :'D) when I finally found my phone, but I realised I couldn’t push that fkin button, so I asked him, like "could you please push the button, because my hand is shaking, I’m sorry". He laughed, and he told me, “yeah I can see that, so sure.” We took another one, but my face looked nothing but surprised :'D He looked so freaking good, tho!
I asked him if I could hug him, and he said, sure! And then he hugged me with two hands and I can’t remember last time how he smelt wwhen I met him, but since so many of you are asking this question, I can tell that this time he smelt so freaking good. He had this manly, spicy, expensive cologne on. Even his stubble pricked my face lol :D I told him happy early birthday and he was like, “aww thanks!”
Then it was Selina's turn. :) Then Réka came, and before she asked for a hug, I remember that she pointed at me and told me in Hungarian: "I’m going to hug him, take a picture woman!" :DDD Then she asked him, but she couldn't even finish her sentence, Adam hugged her, and Réka was so sweet, she even lifted her leg :DD I took a picture, of course ;)
Rebi was next, her camera just couldn't handle the lighting, so the picture was blurry. I told them to wait a sec, whilst I looked for my phone. My hand started to shake again (it was so cold, by the way), and I could tell Adam was enjoying our reaction more than he should have, (like "yes, love me") :D Somehow I took their picture withoutit coming out blurry :)
After, Adam smiled and told us, that it was nice to meet you guys, again. Then his eyes were zooming towards Réka's nails, and he told her, “ohh, actually, I like your nails!” We told him we have the same design, and he was thinking for a bit, then "ooohh, I know!", and smiled. Probably he had seen it on Instagram, since we tagged him! Adam sees everything, it's kinda creepy :D
We told him we can't wait for the concert tomorrow, and happy early birthday, and he was like, yess, it's gonna be fun, and he possibly hinted towards something about the front row, but I'm not sure. After this, he told us that he was freezing so he had to go. :)
He gave the Queen fans a couple of autographs but he didn't hear when they kept asking for a picture .. :D
I’m not kidding, after he made it into the hotel, the rain started to pour so hard! Just a second after he left! Of course, we couldn't wait under the cover since the nice doorman had told us to leave, and he had his grumpy face on like when we met Adam lol

Not sure how we made it to the information centre in that storm, but we did, and we were shaking and shocked. We just couldn't believe that had happened for us and Adam was so nice, oh my god, I can’t even tell you. He was such a cupcake!
We knew no matter what happened tomorrow, our trip was complete.
We slept like 2-3 hours, then we got up at 5am. We did our makeup and we went to the Lanxess around 7.30am. Not sure what the heck was on our mind, but we were there at 7 fuckin am, and it was freezing! We saw how they were doing the stage, and even the employees flirted with us a bit, haha
Then around 8.30am, a Queen fan finally came, and together we found the right door. Guys, it was hell. The company was A+, and everyone was really nice with us, told us congrats on our meeting, but it was so windy and freezing, we didn't have any covers and around 3pm, Rebi's lips were BLUE! I’m not sure about mine, since I had lipstick on, but we were really close to crying. I have to say that we were keeping each other warm. We were running, laughing, listening to music, and trying to forget about how cold we were.
It was sweet when the crowd sang Happy birthdaaay deeeaaaar Adaaaaaaaam :D
After they made the cordons and lines around 4pm, we were so done, oh god. We laughed about everything so hard. Réka kept singing, and then Adam posted his big news, and ahh I knew it would make the waiting much easier!
We were there first, and our gate was the first that opened at 6pm, and I don't even know how, but I was running or flying so hard, that I made it into the arena first, and I was looking around like, yesssssss fucking yesssss! Then, I made it to the front row B stage, where Adam sings Killer Queen, because we wanted to give Adam a high five, as it was his birthday :D (Also, we had seen the show 3x in the USA, but we had never seen KQ that upfront before, so it would be a great chance for us)
After like 10-20 seconds, I saw Réka, who was scared, she was looking around like dafuq, so I shouted for her, and she was the second one who was there with me, in the front row. We were about to cry, we were shaking, then Rebi came and oh god, we were like fuck yyessss! The sec guard was sweet, he was smiling, and said congrats :D
We had this ‘Happy Birthday, Adam’ poster, which had a Birthday kiss text on the behind lol
Then, we were like, oh my god we are gonna meet Adam on his birthday!
By the way, I have to say we were lucky cuz the queen fans were really nice behind us, they told us we were sweet :)
Wow, the show! Well I can’t even describe it. Once again. I think it was the best show of my whole life, even if I saw Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nickelback, Rihanna and Adam live – 6 times. He was so happy, it was so sweet. You could feel the atmosphere in the arena.
He was looking at us so many times, with a smirk on his face, and he even blew a kiss for our bday kiss sign (it was more like a mouth licking or tongue moving but whatever hahaha)
It was sweet when Brian saw that I was taking picture of him, so he looked directly into my camera, then I thanked him, and he just said, “it's ok” with a pitch to his tone of voice. I have to say that Brian and Roger are really modest and humble, and true artists, and I have nothing but respect for them.
Killer Queen was awesome, he was so sweet and fun and you could feel that he sings it about himself as well as directly to you. What a performer!
And Radio Gaga...! We met him, we shook his soft hand (IT IS REALLY SOFT OH MY GOD), and he even told us, HI GUYS! I didn't realise it, just in our videos, and we had a little fangirl attack :DD
He was talking about the beautiful people in the front row, and he pointed in our direction, and I was like dafuq, and then Rebi started to scream so hard, and she was about to cry and she was screaming at the same time. GUUUYSS
Well, we didn't really sleep at all that night, so at the airport we were 100% done again. We laughed even harder than yesterday; we were in such a good mood.
What 3 hours sleeping, a little Adam and a good, loving company do for you? It was amazing!
We met Móni in the city, so our group now consisted of 4 persons. We had dinner and then we were chatting, laughing, and I completely felt that this was our best week so far!
Around 1am, we went to sleep, and decided we would get up around 9.30ish or so. Then, after a good sleep, I felt Réka shaking my shoulder, and I felt the devil rise up inside of me hahaha. I was like, “not today, Satan,” so I pretended that I was sleeping, but she continued to shake me, and then she lifted my eyes-cover thingie and shouted "GOD WAKE THE FUCK UP! ADAM POSTED YOUR PICTURE, YOU LITTLE CUNT. I LOVE YOU" and she jumped and I was like WHAAAAAT! Oh my god how did it happen?!
She told me she knew that I was awake and I was ignoring her on purpose so that’s why she lifted my eye coverers, because she knew I would be mad about it haha.
The day has gone by so fast. Our second concert was drawing nearer! We had covers this time, so it was good.
We were there at 7am, again, so we were the first, again :) I have to say that the foreign Glamberts around us were so sweet, but a couple of Hungarian fans were really rude, like I don’t even know. I heard them say,"they met him again, what the fuck, so unfair, die bitch" and stuff but that’s just nonsense because Adam wouldn’t knock on their door, c’mon. We have spent so much money, free time and all on this, and of course, we love Adam so much, it's been 6 years now since we began to follow his career. C'mon.
And yeah, we are humans as well; I have to say, it was horrible to think about that we had 10... 9... 6...2 ...1 more hour until the show as we stood in the freaking cold.
However, we met a couple of sweet ladies from Hungary, and I was really happy that we were waiting with them. They were with us in the front row. :)
There was no coordination or order when the doors opened – it was horror!. There were no cordons, the Queen fans were rude – I’m not even sure, because they were mostly men and boys, and one of them even wanted to push Rékato move her out of the way... I mean, what kind of man is that? - the security guards were rude, they confiscated my camera; I was like, fuck it, I have enough good pictures of him, let's enjoy the show, so I started to run, and again, we made it to the front row! We wanted to stand at the front of the main stage, but guys it IS HUGE; like, we wouldn't see anything. It's like 2m high or I don’t even know, so we moved away so were standing front row at the catwalk again.
I had this little panic attacl, because of the day we’d had. I felt like I was going to pass out, but Rebi started to talk to me, gave me water and made me calm by telling me that everything was fine. The whole day was so stressful, we felt really bad because of how our "friends" were acting with us. Ugh, the whole week I had no sleep. But, everything was awesome; we had a group hug and we said we would be having a big party since this was the last QAL show for us- at least for a while.
The show was perfect! Adam was on fire, he sang the songs really well, he even did a couple of dirty things, and I think he recognised us at the very beginning!
So, Radio Gaga was next, and I'm positive he wanted to sing right in front of us - you can see it in the video. But, a German fan grabbed him, and it was scary. I’m happy for her, because she had her moment, but I think a high five is awesome as well, and you don't have to grab Adam to be able to have a great moment. Adam was surprised, but he handled it very well. He even said hi to us again, so he was sweet, but he was a little bit in awe, like, what just happened? We were able to touch his hand and shoulder, but one of my friends just couldn't, because of this fan, and you know, it's just unfair. I think it's such an awesome thing that he even does it,, by going down into the audience, so you can enjoy your moment, but don't take away other's, you know.
However, I had so much fun with my besties; we were singing and dancing, Réka took some really nice pictures. We were like yes; we are such a good team together! I have to say, if I were to go on a road trip ever again, I would go with them. We are such a good match.
In summary: this was by far the best week of my whole life, and I'm really grateful for it. I feel like we're really blessed, and of course, lucky. I think I’ve got enough positive energy for this year from my experience.
Can't wait for era3, and I’m so happy for this beautiful and talented man that I am honoured to call my idol! :))
