Star Wars Rebels Takeover Review

Hey guys!
I'm Chilly573, and I am going to try reviewing a party for the first time. Sometimes I might post other things too, but for now, let's dive in!
Okay, so Club Penguin had their first party of 2015, the Star Wars Rebels Takeover, in January. In my opinion, things were much improved over certain parties in 2014, and I hope we see more things like this, and better, in the future!
First off, the decorations were neat looking. I do feel like they were a bit overhauled, and that can be changed. Spend less time overhauling certain rooms, and it will give the artists more time to design other rooms, and maybe more then usual. For example, the Town during the Hollywood Party and the Penguin Cup. The decorations in these rooms are really nice because you can still see the original design of the room in them, but they're decorated enough for that good party vibe. Anyways, back to my original point! I also noticed some things with the decorations at this party that haven't been done at a party in a long time. Secrets. Legitimate secrets. The secret message at the Dock that everyone entirely overlooked, until it was seen translated in a Disney Game On video. A secret room, the space room! It may sound silly now, but I overlooked the stars in the sky at the Plaza, and though it seems obvious now, it sure wasn't then! I hope Club Penguin will continue to make these kind of secrets at future parties.
Another important feature at parties, the features! They haven't been this good since the Halloween Party 2014. Some of the quests are a bit easier then the others (looking at you, Ezra), but I felt the battery quest was pretty great. Even I got stumped on a few of them. It would be nice if you could replay all the quests, for coins maybe, like during the Halloween Party 2014. Yes, it did allow you to replay the Kanan quest (not on the app for some reason), but you didn't get anything for it. Long story short, the quests for this party are better then normal, but they could be improved. Hey, they got rid of the white border around scavenger hunt items. That's a start, right?
Now, people might think this is getting rather cliche, but not me! I'm glad to see the dueling feature return any day, whether it's pirate dueling or lightsaber dueling. Besides, what's a Star Wars-themed party without the lightsaber battling? It may be based on chance, but that's alright with me, because it's in-game. This is not the case for the Inquisitor battle, the main downside of the party. It's impossible to lose, and you only need to beat him three times to win. I'd prefer a mini-game like the ones at the original Star Wars Takeover. Like maybe the Tatooine Stormtrooper one? Maybe redesign the game, then after a small Stormtrooper battle, then we can do the lightsaber duel? Maybe it's not the best, but it's still better. Now, Club Penguin did something at this party I don't think I've ever seen them do before. They let older users with lightsabers from the original Star Wars Takeover battle with their old lightsabers, on day one, instead of waiting to complete the missions. I really, really loved how they did this. If an older player wanted to, they could just dust off one of their old lightsabers, and battle with it. If Club Penguin is ever in a situation like this again, like maybe another Pirate Party, for example, I'd love to see them do this again.
The music is pretty nice. Apparently most of it's from the Rebels series, and the original Star Wars movies. It's pretty nice to listen to, and matches the party rooms. However, while changing the music in non-decorated rooms doesn't hurt anything, it does feel kind of cheap. Maybe if CP spent less time on each of the decorated rooms, they'd have more time to add some decorations to indoor rooms? That's something most recent parties are missing. Those ambiances in certain non-decorated rooms were decent, too. Like the Ski Village and Ski Hill, for example. But why aren't those rooms on the app yet so they can get their fair share of decorations?
Last off, the storyline! The Empire is coming to Club Penguin, and the Ghost ship is following them. When they arrive, they take over the island, and the Rebels crew also arrives to stop them. I thought the storyline was decent at this party. The CP Times even changes to the Imperial Times to match the party. It does however seem messed up that the Inquisitor battle and the Kanan rescue mission were unlocked before the second week, but it says in the Times that he's been captured... after hundreds of penguins had already saved him prior to then. Maybe they could've saved the Inquisitor battle for the second week? If they did that, the party would also not get as stale, because in my opinion, two weeks is too long for a party. One week parties and more mini-parties would be better.
Overall, the Star Wars Rebels Takeover is an improvement over lots of recent parties in many ways. Cool (but overhauled) rooms, thoughts for older players (in terms of penguin age and real age), hidden secrets, decent music and a fairly decent storyline. If Club Penguin keeps this up, then maybe 2015 will be a less dreaded year then most people thought 2014 was. I give the Star Wars Rebels Takeover an 8/10!
