Dorking Wanderers PRESS RELEASE 22 December 2014

Dorking Wanderers FC & its affiliated youth section Mole Valley Rangers are delighted to announce that we are part of the new plans to regenerate Meadowbank football ground into a brand new facility that will benefit the whole community.

Mole Valley District Council & Dorking Wanderers have been in talks for several months following MVDC’s commitment to help DWFC find better more suitable playing facilities to match the clubs ongoing progress on the playing field & lack of good quality infrastructure for its other affiliated team’s which feature our own Reserve, Under 18, Under 16 teams as well as MVR’s several teams that range from Mini-Kickers up to 16 years old.

Club Chairman Marc White comments;

'As Chairman of Dorking Wanderers i speak on behalf of our entire club when i say we are absolutely delighted with the proposed Meadowbank developments, i have seen first-hand across the UK how modern, forward thinking projects can have a huge benefit on the wider community & the commitment of MVDC to provide this new facility in recognition of the towns ever increasing requirements for additional sporting activity is to be highly commended'

'New age facilities are becoming an ever increasing feature in football & they enable Senior Clubs to dual benefit, we fully welcome sharing the facility with Dorking FC & recognize that both clubs play a key role in providing football in the community, DWFC applaud the commitment & hard work undertaken by Dorking FC's new Management team which has enabled MVDC to be able to develop & facilitate such an exciting local development'

‘We look forward to working together with both MVDC & DFC to develop the ideas for restoring the football ground for the benefit of the whole community, early in the new year."
