ATTENTION POTTERHEADS! Here are the full details on the #TwitterYuleBall2014 -

You are cordially invited to celebrate the holiday season Hogwarts-style at the Twitter Yule Ball 2014. The event will take place on the 20th of December starting at 6 PM GMT (London time) in the Great Hall (your Twitter timeline).

@YuleBall2014 will help you with the necessary time conversion for your specific country/state/timezone.

Of course, you could join in at any time you like as the event will go on for hours and hours, so don't worry if you can't make it at 6 PM. Last year's Yule Ball carried on for more than 12 hours.

If you haven't attended in the previous years, you are definitely wondering what the event is about and how it will work.

For starters, it's a Twitter role-play event where Potterheads from all around the world can celebrate the Yule Ball from the comfort of their bedrooms.

During the Ball, we will definitely be trying to trend the hash-tag #TwitterYuleBall2014.
You can interact with fellow Potterheads, you can talk, sing, and fill the timeline with crazy party-related tweets.
Our main goal, of course, is to keep the magic of Harry Potter alive.
We'll be getting virtually drunk on butterbeer and firewhiskey, dancing like hippogriffs, role-playing our favourite characters, singing along to songs together, laughing together, and having the time of our lives in celebration of Harry Potter.
We can talk about our favourite Harry Potter moments, relive our dearest memories, and joke about the characters in the series.

You can change your icon/name/header to match the festive and Harry Potter-kind-of mood.

A date is NOT mandatory, but it would definitely be great to have one. You could take a friend or go with a group of friends. Either way, you're guaranteed to have fun.

Just like every year, remember to join the after-parties in the common rooms. One is hosted for each House.

During the event, remember to add the hash-tag '#TwitterYuleBall2014' somewhere in every tweet. Doing this will connect us all and will also increase your chances of being considered for an award as it is easier to find your tweets.

This year's award categories are as follows:

• Best Dressed Award

• Hogwarts House Pride Award (1 winner for each house)

• Funniest Drunk Award

• Party Animal Award

• Cutest Couple Award

• Best Role-play Award

[NOTE: the categories and number of winners possible are subject to change]

Award winners will receive official Harry Potter merchandise as prizes. Those include: Platform 9 3/4 train tickets, Hogwarts House pins, Hogwarts postcards, Death Eater tattoos (removable), and other goodies.

Don't forget to show us your dresses/gowns/suits/tuxedos and choice of accessories. Tweet @YuleBall2014 a photo of your outfit and you'll be automatically considered for the Best Dressed award. Award winners of the different categories will be announced the day after the event (December 21).

We advise you to follow a range of Harry Potter accounts that are attending in order to feel more involved in the event. Otherwise you won't feel the hype and craze of the party. So please do this - it's really important for your involvement. @YuleBall2014 can help you find Potterheads who are attending.

During the event, remember to occasionally search the hashtag '#TwitterYuleBall2014' in order to know what's been going on worldwide, not just on your timeline.

We're proud to say that Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) and Will Dunn (James Sirius Potter) have attended in previous years. Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Anna Shaffer (Romilda Vane) have known about it but were unable to make it. We hope to be able to get as many Harry Potter cast members to join us on this magical evening.

For more information, updates, questions, and concerns, follow @YuleBall2014 on Twitter. We're prepared to help you with anything related to the event.

Get your dress robes ready and be prepared to have the most magical time of your life.

I'm really excited to see you all there!

Regards,
@HtothePotter - Nad
