Two months ago, I discovered Zoe Quinn's personal information. It was all stuff about her personal history, where she's lived, her childhood, etc. I decided not to release it because It was unrelated to the issue of ethics in games journalism. And it sat undisturbed until now.
I knew eventually somebody would be able to retrace my steps - autism allowed me to get there first, but eventually somebody else would figure it out. I was right.
A random user began spamming the doxx last night on 8chan. 8chan users, in an attempt to prevent the doxx from going public, spammed their own boards all night until an admin woke up to deal with it.

If you ever had any doubt that #gamergate is against harassment, consider it washed away. This shit is done by a group of trolls looking to stir up trouble on both sides. I personally believe that the threats sent to Anita and Brianna were also done by those people and not #gamergate at large. There are twitter threads implicating a brazilian guy as being responsible for some of the latest round of threats to anita/brianna, and I hope the brazilian cops jail his ass ASAP.
But what about this time? I think I know who was behind ZQ's latest doxx attempt.
A twitter user named @nickwhonayldor approached me yesterday with proof that back at the beginning of all of this, Zoe quinn doxxed herself. I examined his proof, and while it wasn't a slam dunk, yes, all of the evidence pointed towards Zoe releasing a fake set of doxx on herself back in august, likely to garner sympathy and smear the other side. However, to be able to prove it, I would have to actually reveal Zoe's TRUE doxx to the public. I have not and will NEVER do this. Presenting evidence that Zoe fake-doxxed herself is not worth it if doing so meant me actually doxxing her for real.

Nick got fed up with this, and fed his information to another user, @trustedtrevor. And that night, when all of the 8chan mods were asleep? Nick's information was spammed on 8chan. This is not what #gamergate is about. This is why 8chan users spent all night trying to make sure the doxx stayed off the forums.
I have no decisive proof of this. But it is my opinion that @nickwhonayldor or @trustedtrevor (or both) are responsible for the attempted doxxing of zoe quinn last night. In the same breath, with equal importance, I will say: #gamergate is not responsible and does not condone this, and these two individuals need to be investigated, if not banned from twitter and talked to by the police.
