NSCDC DEPLOYS 50,000 PERSONNEL FOR EID EL KABIR COVERAGE
In ensuring a successful and peaceful Sallah celebration, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Dr. Ade Abolurin has directed the zonal and state commands of the Corps to adequately deploy their personnel to strategic places such as federal highways, Praying grounds and gathering places, not excluding black spots where criminal elements hibernate.
This directive was given in line with the present security challenges that sometimes worsen during festivities.
Abolurin stresses that, the Corps is committed for laboring for the law-abiding citizens to be at peace. He reiterates that, both Muslims and Christians are one, therefore, all hands must be on deck in tackling the problem of insecurity bedeviling the society, as no religion preaches violence.
In felicitating with Mr. President, the Vice President and Muslim Faithful’s across the globe, the Corps Chief Executive stated that apart from the deployment of regular and volunteer personnel, the Corps has deployed some specialized Units such as the Special forces, Counter-Terrorism Unit; Nuclear, Biological Chemical and Radio-Active Squad; surveillance vehicles and sniffer dogs for the purposes of sniffing out combustive chemicals and other dangerous compound substances used in creation of bombs and IEDs.
He encourages the faithful’s to see the period as an opportunity to pray for the unity of Nigeria and to ask for forgiveness of sins in line with the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
Abolurin assures the citizens of effective Security coverage across the nooks and crannies as all Security Forces have worked out modalities and strategized on adequate deployment of their personnel.
He dwells so much on the need for synergy, partnership collaboration and cooperation among all agencies in order to disabused the mind of the criminal element who always believed that crisis, rivalry and rift it’s what can be attributed to the Security Forces and not good relationship to fight crime.
Therefore he tasked the Corps personnel to work sincerely and committedly by collaborating and synergizing with all and shun every form of issues that could lead to crisis and rift.
Abolurin calls on all stakeholders to join hand with Security Forces to fight insecurity and every act of vandalism by providing timely information.
He advices all those criminal minded individuals that always capitalized on festive periods to carry out their nefarious activities to desist or relocate from the country as the law is no respecter of anyone if caught. Therefore parents and guardians are to caution their wards to desist from every act of illegality.
