Sohu TV #Yunho interview ##야경꾼일지 #정윤호 FULL - The Korean drama 'Night Watchman's Journal' which is currently receiving hot airplay on Sohu TV. The drama's cool and suave 'Joseon's best swordsman' Mooseok has received a lot of praise from many fans. Recently, Sohu TV conducted an exclusive interview with the actor that plays Mooseok, Jung Yunho. The Yunho who is acting in his first period role shared with us little stories from filming, and also that he looks forward to having a chance to act opposite Changmin.

Carrying the spirit of challenging himself and learning, Jung Yunho accepted the role in 'NWJ'. His first time acting in a period drama, his first time filming action scenes, the pressure on Yunho's shoulders cannot be imagined. However, during the interview, he did not show any signs of fatigue, instead he said he enjoyed the action filming process a lot. He also felt that the fact that he could share Korean heritage with overseas viewers through 'NWJ' was a very meaningful thing.

From 'Yawang' in 2013 until this year's 'NWJ', Jung Yunho's focus on the process of being an actor has become smoother as he goes along. His fellow group member, Changmin has also been conducting his own acting activities. When asked about there would be a chance he could act with Changmin one day in the future, the Yunho who had until now been very serious, first laughed and then answered that he would look forward to such a day very much as it would definitely be very interesting.

Transcript of the interview (based on the subtitles / transcript as per article; earlier posted)
To the Sohu TV viewers, hello. I am U-Know Yunho
- captions: Interviewing U-Know Yunho: Usually enjoys learning boxing, looks forward to co-starring with Changmin -

Q. Could you please introduce the scene (in the drama) that you're filming today?
A. The scene today? Today, I filmed a lot of scenes. Today there's also a scene where I face-off with the ghosts. And then (there is) Lee Rin who is feeling very troubled because of the Serpent Demon. Today, I am going to film the confrontation with the Serpent Demon, where I am assisting him (t/n: Lee Rin not the demon!)

Q. What is Yunho's feelings on his first time filming a period drama?
A. First, I feel that through 'Night Watchman's Journal', Korean culture can be spread widely. As compared to others, this drama can be seen as the Korean version of 'Ghostbusters'. It is a show that is full of Korean cultural references, the story is suspenseful and has a lot of charm.

Q. Could you introduce the role of Mooseok, and say something about the drama, for our Chinese viewers?
A. I act as a royal official, with the illustrious reputation of being the best swordsman in Joseon. Although my personality is a little cold and of few words, but over interactions with people, and after becoming a Night Watchman, (I) gradually become a warm-hearted person.

Q. Were there any difficulties faced while filming?
A. As this was my first time filming an action drama, and a sword is a dangerous weapon, in some tense moments, don't I dance?*(t/n: the action sequences) I slowly realised the appeal of the similarities with dancing, and understood the charm of swordsmanship. So I was happy when I was filming.

Q. In your private time, are there any sports that you are into?
A. I really enjoy basketball. Recently, I have been learning boxing. Now that I am filming, I have not worked out for a long time. Once I am done with filming, I want to continue learning boxing.

Q. How about trying out Lee Rin's colourful costumes? (t/n: interviewer mentioned that lee rin's costumes in the show are bright and colourful)
A. In the show, Mooseok has a bit of a stern and cold personality. His costumes are (therefore) also (usually) dark-coloured. I like bright colours so I do want to try out Lee Rin's type of bright costumes. If there is a chance for Mooseok to exchange costumes with Lee Rin for a scene, I think it will be interesting.

Q. What are your thoughts on acting with Jung Il-Woo?
A. Il-Woo often buys me nice things to eat. In the drama, there is a little mental battle* (t/n: tension). But in real life, there is no such thing. Because we are close in age, we have many things in common to talk about, we are also happy when we film together. Better than this, when Il-woo's seriousness when he is filming is really very handsome. I will also work hard and film, hope everyone can pay our drama a lot of attention.

Q. Because the drama uses special effects, imagination is needed when filming it. Does this make it more difficult?
A. At the start, it was a little difficult. Like when you have to imagine the direction in which (things/people) are flying. Now, it has become interesting.

Q. Would you consider trying acting together with Changmin? As a rival?
A. Acting with Changmin, we have done it many times together in MVs. When acting together, the two of us can create a lot more memories that belong to TVXQ. I think this idea is really not bad. It will be interesting. Our personalities are different, we will be kept busy even if just discussing the script. (Hopefully) there will be a chance in the future where we can act together.

Q. Are there any future plans for TVXQ to come to China for promotions?
A. SMTown. We will be meeting with Chinese fans through SMTown. (We) are looking forward to meeting our Chinese fans as soon as possible.

Q. Would you like to say a few words to the Sohu TV fans who love you?
A. Yes, to the Sohu TV viewers, 'NWJ' has now completed filming halfway. 'NWJ' is a drama that is able to show Korean culture as well as be (show the) touching (moments). I hope that more of you will be able to watch 'NWJ'. Let us anticipate the ending of 'NWJ' together.
