#gamergate Occam's razor, part 2.

It's no secret to anyone gaming journalism is the punchline to a sick joke. Even games journalists and industry figures openly acknowledge it. Gag-ordered payola allegations (Rab Florence); reviewers fired for bad reviews (Jeff Gerstmann); plagiarism; undisclosed conflicts of interest and refusal to recuse; the complete inexistence of the wall of separation between news, editorial content, and advertising (Geoff Keighley); we've seen it all, year after year with constant complaint from audiences, without abatement.

So, which is more likely:

1. The gaming community, many of whom are women, non-binary, PoC, LGBTQ, and disabled, has finally had enough of journalists' shit,

or

2. A secretive cabal of misogynist 4chan users have launched a psyops hate/harassment campaign that has spread like wildfire among the entire gaming community, the vast majority of which actually don't engage in toxic behavior and hate it, because we're all misogynist Manchurian candidates the whole time.
