So about this Zoe Quinn thing...
Ok so am typing this on my iPad so expect lots of errors, but it just had to finally chime in.
After reading the epic circle jerk about all of this I have finally formed an opinion. Many of you asked for it and I am sure many more will disregard it because of my whit cis male status. Whatever.
This whole thing stinks of shit. As far as I can tell we have a woman who has made some mistakes and 5 guys who allegedly sold their integrity to get laid.
Many people focus on Zoe Quinn's mistakes here and I think that is wrong. I think what most gamers should consider is this something entirely different.
You shouldn't trust game journalists. Not even me, all told. We are trusted for our opinions yet at least 5 of us have perhaps sold that for a very low price. Perhaps it is wrong for Zoe to offer such things, if she did, but it's much more wrong to agree to the deal.
Play games for yourselves. Trust your friends. Watch let's plays. Rent games first. Avoid protesters.
The next time you watch or read a review, take it with a grain of salt.
