#Lesson A List of Common Role-Play Abbreviations
(Requested by @SStorm_FF)

RP- Role-play. The act of pretending to be someone you are not in a forum for entertainment purposes.

Verse- Short for universe. The world where your character, or their's, lives.

OC- Original Character. A character conceived by the writer. It can be in a specific universe or it can be a stand-alone that can exist in an original universe or multiverse.

Canon- A character conceived by another creator. Do not expect them to be exactly as they are portrayed in the show, as roleplay is not conducive.

OP- Overpowered. Characters who either are incapable of making the wrong move or, should they make the wrong move, are incapable of suffering the consequences. An unbalanced character.

Godmod- Can be used to mean overpowered or a writer who chooses actions for you. Example: "I stab you in the stomach, forcing you to bend over in agony as you suffer a slow, painful death).

OOC- Out of Character. When a character does something that, even in context, makes no sense for the character, or the writer says something as the writer. Can be used in communication, writer to writer (good), or can be used to make the character do something it wouldn't otherwise do (depends on the situation).

IC- In Character. The opposite of OOC.

This list is by no means complete, and is only the most common ones that I can think of at the moment. If I missed one, feel free to tell me, and I will make another list.
