#Lesson Original question: //What goes into being a good RPer? @OriginalMinato

"This is always a hard question to field, as it is largely subjective. A good RPer to one person will be meh to another. It really depends on what you are looking for.

But I will endeavor to answer to the best of my ability.

In my opinion, a good RPer can do the following: stay in character, tell a story, and communicate. I will be breaking these down.

-Stay in Character-
What I mean by this is be true to the spirit of your character, not be in character at all times. Sometimes things happen and you do things that would, ordinarily, be out of character. This happens in life, and it should happen in RP occasionally, as RP should, to some degree, reflect life.

-Tell a Story-
I don't necessarily mean writing an SL. What I mean is being able to build a logical sequence of events that have interesting occurrences along the way. This also includes being able to change that story as is needed; to a certain degree, adaptability is always needed.

-Finally: Communication-
The ability to talk to the other writer. Not the character, the writer. We are not operating in a vacuum; there are things that you don't like, and things the other writer doesn't like. Sometimes the character gets into situations the writer doesn't agree with for some reason. In these situations, it is best to talk to one another. RP should be enjoyable for everyone involved.
