An open letter to @4Viewers from UK #Supernatural fans.

To whom it may concern,
Due to Sky Living's recent decision that the channel will not air 'Supernatural' from now on; it has come to our attention that our beloved show is now effectively homeless in the UK.
On behalf of the fans affected in our worldwide #SpnFamily, we'd like to approach channel 4 as a company (and your variety of sister channels) & ask if you'd please consider taking in our show, to give UK fans the opportunity to watch and enjoy the show, without having to wait over a year for each season to come out on DVD.
We believe now is the PERFECT opportunity for @E4Tweets especially to grab hold of the epic-ness (that's totally a word, I swear!) that is Supernatural with both hands - 8 seasons of reruns, a 9th in progress in the US, a 10th on its way, not to mention a spin-off show now commissioned (& currently in production), and a whole host of successful conventions in the US & UK dedicated to the show and its fanbase - what more can one ask for?
Since Sky Living has unceremoniously dumped our show out in the cold, the UK fans are all, naturally, devastated. Sky Living has treated the show terribly since they commissioned the rights to air the show back in season 5, forcing British fans to wait over a year for each new season, with next to no promotion, except word of mouth via fans since season 6, only ever discussing the show when fans contacted them. They also assured fans that Season FIVE of the show would being airing on freeview in 2010, once it had aired on Sky Living. We're still waiting for Sky to make good on that promise. The show is, as mentioned before, now in its ninth season in the US. Something tells us that was never a promise they intended to keep.

So, who better to give this amazing show - one of the longest running shows on the CW network in the US - than an accessible to all, trustworthy and popular freeview channel like E4? A channel that has stood by SO many of Warner Bros./CBS tv shows over the years; The Tomorrow People, Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, 90210, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Dark Angel, Friends, HIMYM, 2 Broke Girls, (to name but a few!) - it makes perfect sense to add Spn to the list! As well as making LEGIONS (literally) of fans so incredibly happy, Supernatural would bring a HUGE amount of new viewers to the channel - viewers that would otherwise maybe find... ahem...'ulterior' methods to watch the show. After all, everyone has the internet. Not everyone has Sky, (I'm sure you know what I'm saying here!)
One only has to check out the ratings for the show in the US to see how popular the show has grown over the past few years. The longevity of the show & its incredibly dedicated fanbase is a DOOZY in terms of potential ratings for a UK channel - because, let's face it, what other genre show can say their ratings have been steadily INCREASING in its NINTH season, and has the channel it airs on in the US boasting of the best ratings they've had on a Tuesday night in five years?
This is a hands down, straight up, solid investment for channel 4 - an investment that can guarantee a huge increase in new viewers to the channel, a choice of eight seasons (22 episodes+ per season) in syndication to scatter over the schedule, and the gratitude and happiness of MILLIONS of fans!

So, who do we have to bug/pester/politely beg on hands & knees to make this perfect union happen?

As social media can attest, Spn Family can be a formidable force to be reckoned with (as Sky Living will soon find out, thanks to this ridiculous stunt), and we can be VERY persuasive when it comes to the fate of our amazing family. Think 'Ve haf vays of making you tock!' - just, y'know, less 'villainy', more 'coming out with endearing pop culture quotes to make you laugh & fall in love with this family of oddballs'. ;-)
Because at the end of the day, that's what we are. We're a family. Being a part of this fandom is more than just being a fan of some random sci-fi/fantasy tv show - we live, breathe and love the show, its actors and our fellow fans like our own family. We've raised hundreds of thousands of pounds (& dollars) towards various charities over the past few years, we are Guinness World Record holders (An annual, charity driven, worldwide scavenger hunt), and in 2013, we won a People's Choice Award for 'Best Fandom'.
And when it comes to rallying the troops and sticking together to protect/promote our show, we're slicker than the 300 Spartans that took on the Persians. ;-)
We would LOVE to find our show a new home within the Channel 4 conglomerate - especially on E4, a vibrant, popular and young adult-orientated channel.
Along with the aforementioned Warner Brothers/CBS shows that have already settled in nicely, I'm sure Supernatural would fit in perfectly. :-D
Thank you for your time.

Much love, hope and appreciation,
Kati, on behalf of the Supernatural fanbase - #SpnFamily
