[TRANS] December's Kim Junsu expresses his thoughts after last performance, "Strength of original musicals come from the audience"

Kim Junsu expressed his thoughts after completing his last performance for the musical 'December' at the Daegu Opera House.

Kim Junsu's agency, CJES Entertainment stated on the 26th, "December's Kim Junsu relayed his thoughts after finishing his last performance. Kim Junsu portrayed Yoon Jiwook, a man who could not forget his first love. By acting as a character in his 20s and then 40s, Junsu's showed another side in the 'spectrum' of his career. He received high praise for his reinterpretation of Kim Gwangsuk's songs with his rich emotions and explosive vocals."

Kim Junsu stated on the stage of his last performance, "Today is my last 'December' stage. Through performing at Sejong (Seoul), Busan and now Daegu, I once again can feel that the strength of an original musical comes from the audience, and for that I am thankful. It was an honor to stand on the same stage as the best musical actors/actresses and I was very happy. Thank you very much for loving Jiwook."

Kim Junsu once again confirmed his ticket power through this musical. Even though Kim Junsu was up against large scale musicals last December, his 'original musical' sold out 85% of seats and in the first round of ticketing, sold out 40,000 seats.

Kim Junsu met with 67,000 viewers in Seoul and 13,000 viewers in Busan and Daegu for a total of 80,000 viewers. He is receiving attention for the fact that not only were audience members women in their 20s to 30s but also middle aged men in their 40s and 50s.

A production representative stated, "We got more inquiries from audiences in their 40s and 50s and preferring Kim Junsu's shows as the musical entered the second half of its run and we heard that this is because Kim Junsu's interpretation of Kim Kwangsuk's music caused them to recollect memories of their youth. He has the ability to use the memories and emotions of the audience and immerse the audience in the musical."

Director Jang Jin also revealed his thoughts following the last performance. He said, "A great encounter is worth encountering once more, this is how I feel right now. I met Kim Junsu through this production and I was surprised by his never-ending curiosity. He always concealed praises for him and I liked that he would always suggest new ideas first. He really is a rare friend."

Kim Junsu will rest for the moment and examine his activities for the latter half of the year.
