Press Release: Dorking Wanderers are delighted to announce the acquisition of Dorking FC’s successful Under 18 side whom with immediate effect will play there remaining games of the 2013/14 season at their new West Humble home prior to becoming an exciting part of Wanderers 2014/15 season infrastructure.
This season has been very challenging for the Under 18’s Management team of Dan Dunning, Keith Campsie & Tom Duke.
The unfortunate circumstances that their Parent club Dorking FC have found themselves in this season has meant that the side have been prevented from having a regular match or training venue therefore the Management team have made the difficult decision to move their youth section to Dorking Wanderers.
Manager Dan Dunning quotes `I'm delighted to get the opportunity to join up and help progress a club in Dorking that grows stronger by the year.
In all honesty it's all about the lads at the end of the day. It's about them playing football and training regularly something that due to ongoing issues with the ground at Dorking FC we've struggled with, financially and facility wise we was going to end up with the youth section folding, which would be devastating for the town.
Personally Dorking FC will always has a place in my heart having spent several years playing there and proudly skippering the side and I'd like to thank Ray Collins for his support whilst we have been with the club. This is an opportunity neither myself and my assistant coaches Keith and Tom, also after meeting with the players and parents could not let pass us by.
The number one thing that we strive to do is to help the develop the young lads in the area and push then on into senior football and we are so happy to have Marc and all at DWFC's support in doing what's right for these boys.
We have a great bunch of lads who just want to get out there playing football like all u18 boys do.
I've nothing but fondness for Dorking FC and all involved but this is a totally footballing decision to secure the future for the boys in which we now look forward to'

Dorking Wanderers are delighted as part of it’s on-going football development strategy to add the popular management team to it’s infrastructure, Chairman Marc White said of the situation ‘It was clear that the boys were in a very difficult situation with an emotional attachment to Dorking FC & an even bigger one to their loyal players, we are delighted to inherit such a fully committed young management team that are locally based & have the best of local footballing talent available in the town representing them’ ‘our aim through the Under 18’s will be to develop the very best local talent into our Senior sides & provide Dan, Keith & Tom with a platform to achieve this’ he continued to say ‘positive news such as this is another stepping stone in our short history and it will help us achieve our objectives of building a community based football club that will proudly represent the town and compete at a high level of non league football'
