Hong Konger Wang Jia Er disobeyed father, abandoning fencing to venture K-POP

Hong Kong fencing athlete Wang Jia Er (Jackson) became the first 100% Hong Kong born K-Pop idol, his boyband GOT7 released their debut mini a day earlier, hoping to create an impact in Asia market. Jackson working schedule is very tight and his father, fencing coach Wang Rui Ji head to South Korea yesterday to reunite with his dear son.

South Korean company JYP in the past has successfully promoted Rain, Wonder Girls, miss A etc. This year, they will be actively promoting GOT7, which include members from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand. As Jackson is unclear whether he can return to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year celebration, his father went to South Korea to visit his dear son. Unfortunately, as GOT7 have a string of recording at several TV stations; it was difficult even to have time to meet up for a meal. Jackson has no choice but to arrange for his father to attend his recording in TV station so they could meet up.

Cantonese coach for miss A

As GOT7 senior girlband miss A is going to hold a show in Hong Kong this Saturday, members Fei & Jia are busy rehearsing. Both of them approached Jackson to coach them in Cantonese. Currently, JYP is aggressively promoting GOT7, hoping to challenge SM Ent ace boyband EXO. GOT7 is attracting a lot of Asian fans due to their multi-national members, their Thai member Bam Bam once took part in Hong Kong movie 《Fairy Tale Killer》 portraying the son of Lau Ching Wan and Joey Meng.
