Dear UN officials,

I fully support the findings and recommendations of UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, Raquel Rolnik, and strongly condemn the despicable comments made by UK Tory party chairman Grant Shapps. He has called on UN secretary general Ban Ki Moon to launch a full investigation into why Ms. Rolnik was allowed to issue an ‘outrageous’ report calling for the so-called ‘bedroom tax’ to be abolished.

Please provide Secretary General Ban Ki Moon with the evidence that I have sent to the OHCHR since January 2012. Mr. Jorge Araya, UNCRPD Secretary, can assist you in that regard. The Secretary General is welcome to contact me if he so wishes. I am willing to provide further evidence in support of Ms. Rolnik, to whom I offer my full support and congratulations on her successful fact-finding mission.

Warm regards,
