OK, basically what happened tonight was that we were coming home from the Co-op and saw a guy being arrested. The cops looked a bit over-zealous so we turned back to keep an eye on them. The arrestee was a MoC accused of dealing weed. We stayed about 6-8 foot away observing. The police had him handcuffed on the floor. At no point was he doing anything which could be classed as 'resisting' but one bald cunt (PC 190) decided to kneel on the arrestee's neck, so I started taking pictures on my phone. PC 190 sent other officers over to ask us to go home, but we refused after seeing the way they were acting when witnesses were there. After about ten minutes, another two cop vans turned up (there was already a van and a car there to arrest one man).

By this point there was about 10 cops surrounding the arrested man, and a few manning the perimeter. We shouted something ("Stop hurting him, there's enough of you, what's he going to do? He's on the floor in handcuffs etc"), and one cop came right in my face to shout at me for 'barking' at him, and when I gestured towards the dude on the floor, accused me of 'waving my arms at him'. Shortly after this, my boyfriend loudly mentioned something similar to what we'd been saying earlier, but used the F-word. Immediately, he was surrounded by four cops threatening him, and demanding his details. Since they have no legal reason to demand someone's details he pointed this out and was then arrested, cuffed and dragged to one of the many vans they had lying about (do they really have nothing better to do?) in order to compel him to give them, also accusing him of 'assaulting a police officer' for not walking towards the van.

At this point I bugged the fuck out. They'd left me with a ladycop in my face, and when I was saying "WHY have you taken him?" she was answering with "Well *I* didn't take him, why are you being like this with me?". Eventually she turned away and I started to walk towards the van where C was held. Three cops descended on me, accusing me of obstructing an officer in the course of his duty (taking pictures) and breach of the peace - apparently I somehow ran towards ladycop with my fist raised when I was walking away from her towards the van. We were sat in separate vans for thoroughly uninteresting arrests where they took our details and told us that we'd ruined our lives, until we were de-arrested about 20 minutes later.

I was de-arrested about 5 minute before C and was told that I would remain de-arrested as long as nothing 'kicked off', and that I was allowed to wait for him by a wall (which was apparently deemed far enough away for this, despite the fact that it was the exact same wall I'd apparently been 'obstructing' from before). When I went there, the original arrested guy was still on the floor in the van that I'd been taken to when I was arrested, but that sped away, as did one other and the car, leaving the car C was in.

It was a foregone conclusion that we would be de-arrested before being taken to a station, we literally did nothing to justify the accusations of breach of the peace, obstruction of a police officer or assault of a police officer - we'd just been vocal about not letting them get away with doing what they wanted and they wanted to seclude us from the crowd and make us shut the fuck up. If they'd rocked up with us at the cop shop, the resident CPS worker would have torn them a new spleen.

While he was still in there, Bald Cunt 190 came over to me and attempted to give me a lecture wherein he told me I was 'lucky' that 'he' had decided not to prosecute me (as a law grad, just let me say that a) I hadn't done anything to justify a BoP charge, b) I hadn't done any obstruction, c) it's not his decision to prosecute) and a load of bulllshit about how next time the pigs want me to move out of the way when they're kicking the shit out of a black man, I should just go. I managed to hold my tongue by just eyeballing the prime candidate for an Eyrie Sky Cell and then boyfriend was de-arrested too, so we went to the pub with original arrestee's friends to swap pictures of arrests and talk about how all cops are bastards.
