Tom Welling interview with 'Vanity Fair'. «The assassination of JFK is one of the most iconic event of the American history, and not only. So much so that people still discuss about it, even after 50 years.»

-Although you didn't experience the assassination of JFK personally, what does it represent to you?

«A tragic event that I hope it won't happen again. Something like what my generation lived through the 9/11 attacks.»

-What did your family tell you about it?

«I basically have been hearing about it since I was born, even though from two different points of view: one of my parents is Democrat, the other one Republican. So It was kind of fun to see them discussing their opinions.»

-What about you?

«No comment. Let's just say that politics affects me, in a way, but I don't think I will ever run for the White House.»

-What does make this movie different from the other ones that talked about the death of JFK?

«Peter [Landesman, the director.] was very good at showing how the common people react in such extraordinary circumstances. And that leaves the audience wondering: "What would I have done if I were them?»

-No Superpowers this time.

«Yes, but I don't want to rule anything out. If they ever offered me a good script that I like, I would even consider the idea of playing a superhero again.»
