To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you as I am concerned about a statement made in the "Statement of Faith" page on the school's website. I am in no way attempting to argue about homosexuality. I understand that the Bible does make some harsh statements about homosexuality which I assume is why it is part of your teaching. However, to claim that homosexuality is an abomination is a disgusting thing to say. I am not religious, although I did go to a religious school for my entire education.

It concerns me that homosexuality is being taught as a disgrace to humanity, when it is clear that homosexuality is ubiquitous throughout nature. There are evolutionary purposes to homosexuality and it is a fact of nature. 10% of all rams are homosexuals and will find one partner of the same gender with whom they will spend the rest of their life with. I would like to know if rams are also committing a sin?

Please raise this issue with your staff as it is extremely offensive to make claims about things that people cannot help. It is equivalent to saying that everybody with brown hair is an abomination.

Although the Bible makes claims against homosexuality, it also makes claims that I am sure the staff of this school do not practice. Judges 19:34 shows that it is okay to offer up women to be raped rather than men. “Thou shalt not kill” is a commandment in the Bible, yet God clearly instructs many of his followers to destroy entire cities full of innocent people, including women and children. But is this taught in your school? If so, I would suggest that the staff think long and hard about the damage they are causing the children of the school by teaching this. If not, great! But then you must accept that you are cherry picking. If you are not going to teach the children that it is okay to subjugate women, then do not teach them that homosexuality is a sin, because it is not.

Kind regards,

Tobias.
