Character Name: Redingard

Game: Oversoul

Monster: Arch Lich

Habitat: This specific Lich resides in the dank recesses of the mysterious Labyrinth. Clogged with the stench of fear and death, it makes for the perfect home to the group of undead husks lingering there. No man, woman or child dares enter its lai, lest they suffer the same fate the others have.

Description: The Arch Lich is a very ornate undead, wearing robes even the finest lords would be jealous of. While it does look quite stylish, it hardly hides the horrific visage the former wizard has now donned. His bones are chalky white, every part of the Lich stripped of life and joy. In its stead, the resonating power of magic and fear have consumed its very soul.

Behavior: Unlike most undead, the Lich has retained its sense of self. To a limited degree, it can feel, think, and even control others. Even so, it acts only with hatred and vehemence, a sentient being with no heart. Its no wonder the powerful wizard behaves with the anger it currently does...knowing it has no absolution may have been what sent it over the edge.

Biography: All undead have to start somewhere; no matter what, every roaming skeleton you find had a story to tell. The Arch Lich has quite the tale to recall in particular...in its past, it was a rather weak wizard. Nothing compared the the common adventurer that know how to fling fireballs or summon ice, this one could barely levitate a fork. Even so, he yearned to actually use it to help Lore. The young mage decided to strike out at the world; find some kind of knowledge or power that would cause villains to quake in their boots, not laugh at his presence. As it just so happens, the wizard did indeed find what he was looking for; the Darkness Orb. Using it as a siphon, his strength was increased astonishingly. For a time, he controlled it, casting the mightiest spells even a practiced mage would be jealous of. Obviously, this would not last. Similar to many artifacts, the Darkness Orb would have been better off alone. The Orb slowly consumed his mind, gnawing away at his thoughts until it blocked all else out. Sleep began to have no meaning, friends became traitors, and life itself became a burden. And so, by its whim, he became the very embodiment of evil; an undead so great, no paladin would dare face it. A Lich, consummated and relentless in the afterlife.
