I've just arrived back to the gaming house from an exciting weekend at Dreamhack 2013. First and foremost, I'd like to say a big 'Thank You' to everyone who cheered for Team MYI and me.
I am still in shock that I won for I did not imagine the possibilities of winning. At first, I didn’t want to go because I was not confident in my skills entering the tournament. It has been one month since I’ve joined Team MYI and only had a short amount of time to train while adjusting to my new lifestyle in Europe. But perhaps this time, my hard work over the years and a bit of luck was on my side.
Dreamhack 2013 was the first Dreamhack event I’ve attended and when I arrived, I came here with the mindset that of a tourist and tried to enjoy the event as much as possible and I thought that that would provide the best results.
Although it may not be interesting, I want to be honest about this. As a pro-gamer, I’m quite timid and lack stage presence but the passion in the audience gave me the courage to shine in the spotlight.
Throughout the competition, I was fortunate to be matched up against Zerg players such as Snute, viOLet, HyuN, and Jaedong. PvZ being my strongest match up, I was able to play confidently in my matches. Even against SjoW, a terran player, I’m really really glad to have been so lucky and was able to secure my win against him.
After seeing my trophy again this morning, I was able to realize that it was not a dream and the whole tournament was a miraculous experience.
Moving forward, I will try to be more involved with the community and as I conclude these thoughts, I would like to say few more things. Just because of my win at Dreamhack and my sudden rise in popularity, I will not become an arrogant individual and just like how I am now, I will pursue to stream as much as I can, practice English and continue to try my hardest to show the best that I can be.
