Going to try my hardest to not make this a tl;dr post.

I’ve experienced a lot over the years being a part of the FGC… the good, the bad, and the ugly. Through 2012 in particular, I changed a lot and grew much thicker skin. I care less what people think of me (especially strangers), I am much less judgmental of others, I am more appreciative of my friends, and am much happier in general. 2013 has been good for me; however despite these changes, I still have not learned how to deal with annoying people and/or thirsties online.

Some examples are: people who message me every day on Facebook despite me NEVER RESPONDING (take a hint), people messaging me with inappropriate/personal requests or questions, and (a recent thing) dick pictures. Although I am thankful I am receiving these unwelcome interactions behind a computer screen and not in person, I’d still rather avoid them altogether. It’s gotten to the point where the only solution I can think of is to up my privacy level—a lot.

As a result I will be deleting everyone on Facebook that isn’t a friend (a lot of acquaintances will most likely be removed as well, sorry) and I will look for whatever settings prevent non-friends from sending me messages.

I have never really had a problem sharing my feelings/activity with people on the internet; it’s just become very annoying getting messages from random people every day. I’m getting old—being nice to people who annoy me takes a lot of effort and is very taxing these days. A lot of people have suggested making a separate, non-personal Facebook page that people can ‘like’ and use to follow some of my activity. I’m still considering this… if I end up making one, I’ll tweet a link to it.

Following me on twitter is another option @Super__Yan

I still <3 you guys I just don’t have time to get to know everyone on a personal level (and definitely not on a dick pic level)!! Thanks for understanding.
