Trans) 131206 Sungmin Interview about TTM

Q. The roles you have in Jack the Ripper and The Three Musketeers have very different personalities. What's the hard part in changing between the characters?
A. D'artagnan is closer to my real personality than Daniel. I'm practicing for both Jack the Ripper and The Three Musketeers right now, and I am more worried about going from D'artagnan back to Daniel.

Q. There are many charming roles in TTM. What is a role you want to try?
A. Constance! Though it's disappointing that a man can't play the girl's role^^, I think that the scene with the iron mask is very memorable. I sometimes provide ideas to Constance about the scene where she acts with the man wearing the iron mask~

Q. How are you practicing to have a difference from previous D'artagnan's?
A. D'artagan is a naive country boy, but he must also have swordsmanship that even the general would acknowledge, so I am practicing my swordsmanship. And I think the charm of TTM is in the activeness and cheerfulness of it. So I will work to show the brightness/happiness and positive feelings of D'artagnan.

Q. Is there a scene or a number that you personally have an affection for?
A. I like all the numbers, but out of them, I like the part that starts with 'Athos' and 'Milady''s 'You are my knight' to 'Promise' the most. If I get a chance to have the role of 'Athos' when I grow up, I want to be able to perform it well.

Q. What charm did you feel from TTM?
A. The activeness and brightness is the charm. And I am happy that the musical has an happy ending, and that my role doesn't die. I've done 5 roles so far, and this is the first time of having a role that's alive till the end. I think my fans will like that too.
And (practicing swordsmanship, singing, and acting) was hard physically, but it felt good to challange something new. And it is very enjoyable to work together with other actors to create the musical little by little, so I have been practicing without feeling the tiredness.
