@crinrict @SimGuruGraham Newer versions of The Sims 3 BG do not come with 1,000 Sim Point insert. For now registration is granting 500 SimPoints, but that may change in the future. If your copy of The Sims 3 BG comes with the free SimPoint insert/ free SimPoint info on the back of the manual then you should still be receiving 1,000 SimPoints.
