Wanted to share a story about tonight's #NCIS show. It's longer than 140 characters... So we shot the bingo scene in a real old folks home just before Christmas. They had a tree in the lobby with paper ornaments on it. Each ornament had wishes of one of the people there for what they wanted for Christmas. When I was young, along with the real junkyard car lot I used to play in that was portrayed in the show, I spent tons of time across the street from that lot with the elderly people in an old folks home there. I loved them. Especially a lady named Bertha Kierkoff that wrote poetry. I would sit with her and we would read poetry forever. When shooting NCIS that day, I noticed one of the wish ornaments was from a "Bertha". It made me smile and cry and I took the ornament to go buy her Christmas gifts for my "new" Bertha. THEN our cast and crew all pooled their money right there on set and one of our P.A.s went and bought every single gift that every single person at that old folks home wanted for Christmas. THIS is why I love my job. THIS is why I love my cast and crew. THIS is why I love NCIS. :)
