Okay, for those of you yahoos saying "Teachers in Israel carry guns, and only 8 kids have died in school shootings over 10 years, but in the US 323 have died in the same time frame" there is a major flaw in your theory. Israel is the size of my garage compared to US population. The population of Israel is 7,765,700. 8 students is a .0001% ratio. The US population is 311,591,917. The number 323 is also .0001% of that total. Is your argument that our teachers should carry guns, or that we should just radically reduce our population to somewhere in the ballpark of 7 million? Because neither of those things would actually work.

Now, the point is not that that is an "acceptable" number of dead students. One dead student is too many. The point IS, number one, 8 is a pretty steep number of students for so small a population; number two, oh wait, 8 is nearly the IDENTICAL percentage of Israel's population as 323 is of our population; and number three, armed teachers in Israel have resulted in the same percentage of dead students as no armed teachers here in the US. Giving our teachers guns is NOT THE ANSWER. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY WILL YOU PEOPLE GET THAT THROUGH THE PERFORATED COLANDER THAT PASSES FOR A SKULL IN YOUR PART OF THE COUNTRY?!
