15th Dec 2012 from Twitlonger

@SignSaveLives Please let everyone know to support masstweets for #SignSaveLives Sunday 16th 8pm + Monday 17th 8pm epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/35092 Twitlonger :

Here are some tips...

- Add #signsavelives and the petition link epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/35092 to variations of tweets at 8pm on those dates. It must have the hashtag #signsavelives

- To follow the masstweet, type #signsavelives into your twitter search and click to see

- Tweets only work to get a hashtag trending. RTs are only good for getting the attention of people with influence

- It may be worth preparing tweets beforehand and cutting and pasting into twitter during the Masstweets

- Hootsuite at www.hootsuite.com is a free programme that you can use to schedule tweets minutes, hours and days in advance. It is alot simpler than it first appears. You have to give Twitter permission to use it though as an application.

- With a masstweet, alot of the work is done in the days before - by letting people know it is happening, and checking you have followers who will support the tweet. you can encourage them to use hootsuite also to tweet other people aswell.

- Do not send all your tweets all at once - they just won't have the same effect - space them out across the hour. If you can't be there, use Hootsuite.

- If someone tweets a celebrity during the Masstweet, please support them with an RT. It will get more attention that way.

- Please tweet some celebrities. If you run out of ideas - look at your TV screen, who is that celebrity on the One Show or actor in your favourite sitcom - are they on twitter? Sometimes, the less well known they are - the more likely they will not be inundated with tweets they don't read.
Here are some lists of people that may be worth tweeting if you can find their twitter handles in the search bar:

List of MP twitter handles: ow.ly/fWbHY

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guardian list of journos at end

look for similar lists of snooker players, paralympians, councillors, newsreaders, etc - be imaginative.

Good luck and I'll see you there!
