Proof that the media failed the world by not paying attention to #Syria: Guardian's Martin Chulov, arguably THE BEST MSM reporter covering Syria, writes this:

"Rebel groups claimed to have seized the missiles used to shoot down the regime aircraft during raids over the past week on regime bases in the north. At least two of the raids are known to have yielded large stocks of weaponry and ammunition."

Even Chulov stopped paying attention to the bigger story for a long time. The FSA has been capturing these weapons for months, MANY MONTHS, not a week - the reason we're likely seeing them put into action now is that the FSA has so many there is no longer a psychology of scarcity. Also, there's evidence they've been used before, just not proof that they've been successful.

This seems like a small thing - but it's not, and here's why.

The FSA will win - possibly very soon - and without a legitimate government to fill the gap. This could spell chaos. Let's imagine that the media had done a proper job all along, and properly reported the strength of the FSA. Maybe the international community would have made progress sooner towards both a transitional government and towards a quicker victory in Syria. Now, Deir Ez zor is overrun by Jabhat al Nusra, Damascus is on the edge, and the media is surprised the rebels are winning.

At least people may finally start to pay attention.

Martin, if you're reading this, you're still the best, and the rest of the article was spot on.
