@GOGcom That is all very nice stuff, and why I support GoG but if you were to include the Linux binaries you would have the indisputably best version. But you insist on not doing so even though you could well release those binaries on an "as is" basis, like for example 3D Realms does with its freeware releases: http://www.3drealms.com/downloads.html

They don't seem to be creating any support nightmares or the like for themselves. As far as what distributions to support, how to package it etc, all those decisions are taken out of your hands since KING Art and Nordic Games have figured all that out for you guys.

You would just have to upload some files to your servers with a notice saying they are unsupported. I say this a someone with a GoG.com collection of games that is not exactly small: http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/User:Kristian_Joensen

But it looks like it may not grow much further. That is if you continue to insist on having, from the perspective a Linux user, the inferior version of many games.

Why certain files MUST not exist on the GoG.com servers while I could get them on Steam or the developers website or Desura or from a Humble Bundle is a complete mystery to me. The fact that representatives of GoG.com on the GoG forum show an ignorance of Linux in certain respects(Thinking FreeBSD is a Linux distribution which it is NOT) doesn't help matters.

Sorry for the extended rant, I really am a HUGE supporter of your service and its DRM free principles and customer friendliness overall but this area is one glaring exception to that customer friendliness.

Yes I understand not having official Linux support (yet), but not distributing already existing Linux binaries and installers for some games on an "as is" warranty free, support free basis is just mind boggling to me. That is the equivalent to a doctor saying: "Sorry I can't cure your disease, so I won't give you any medicine, even if that could help you manage it better."
