Jab Tak Hai Jaan

2.5 / 5 stars

I was really excited with my tickets to the film but I was little disappointed only with one negative point in the film which is the biggest ‘the movie is too lengthy’ it could have been shorten by at least an hour. 3 hours in today’s time is way too long.

Warning: Go and c d film only if u r a fan of romantic film / yash chopra style cinema. The film is not a masala entertainer nor does it promise to be one. It’s not even a rom-com it is a pure serious love story which one won’t find in today’s world, but definitely in a Yash Chopra world  I am hard core lover of romantic & Yash Chopra films so I liked the film. Today’s generation might find the plot to be little whatever.

I had gone for the movie with my brother and mother. My brother didn’t like the film at all and called it dimmag nu dahi & wanted to get out of the film asap. Whereas my mom said it was good but not wow & she too found the movie long. She literally went of too sleep for good 15 min in the beginning of the film. Considering the movie started half an hour late.

SRK is a clear king in romantic films coz once again he sweeps you with his dialogue delivery through eyes and also an added killer stubble look. Katrina is beautiful & has improved a lot in natural acting category. She is definitely going places. You just don’t feel like taking your eyes of her. Anushka in certain parts u will like her bt in certain u will be like now that’s way too much bubbly & she looked bad in certain places (make up problem)

The songs are beautiful saans, ishq shava, heer & jiya re. The movie has got all the Yash Chopra touch with beautiful locales & beautiful leh ladak. Nobody captures the locations as beautifully as Yash Chopra does. The entire film is in 3 to 4 colours white being the principal one (Yash Chopra trade mark style), added to it was balck, borwn & grey. The poetry and some dialogues are nice.

Once again the length of the film could have been shorter. The direction is good. Editing could have been tighter. The movie is not a must watch but it’s definitely not be missed also as it’s the last Yash Chopra film.
